This game will bomb very hard in the end.

Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

    Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:

    GW2 (+LoL and BF3)

Yes Behaviour Interactive is not a big company. But this is their first mmorpg .And Miguel Caron(Head of Behaviour’s Online Studio) used to be the CEO of Funcom. You forgot the best non-rts WH40k game.  How can you even begin talking about this series and completely miss 1995 or 96's Space Hulk from EA, back when EA weren't as douchey?

Darn kids with no respect for the past.... :)

Also missed Final Liberation, an awesome Turn-based strategy game on PC and Chaos Gate. And if you want to go back REALLY far, Space Crusade on the Amiga/Atari ST :D

I need Imperial guard, guard should be free to play, but let me  pay to play as a commissar and shoot any who flees from holding the line.

I will be definitely taking the wait and see approach regarding the company, game and this business model for pay per tier/race.

If they ever add Necrons as playable I'll likely lose all restraint and be pulled into this game no matter what the game is like.

Having talked about how DM came to nothing and all the hype and talk about that, what does Garret want us to do? Start talking all over again, this time about EC. How about just waiting until there is something more than a trailer this time?

The game Climax was developing was based on the old PnP version of Warhammer. In my mind it would of done better than WAR due to its ideas and the way the career system was going to work.

GW should of let them continue to be honest. Would of been a far better game than Mythics version of WoW.

Much more of a market for PVE games?  Somehow i doubt that, if your game does not have pvp it will be a niche game.

I agree that this particular development company didn't make a single good game as of yet. but this is a first major project they are involved in and i believe they have hired some additional talent in order to deliver something that will at least resemble to a good game.

So all their bad games aside i will give them the benefit of the doubt since i have been wanting a WH40k MMO for a long time now so i wish them success, hopefully they will deliver, their ideas sound very promising and generally i am very much looking forward to see the final product they create.

Yes that sounds like a very odd decision. Even if the F2P characters would be much weaker than the paid characters, that still does not counter the fact that there will be ten times as many of them, atleast.

in time they will just over feed the other factions, so dont worry about that.

So what? Now they have a whole new team for this game. And trust me this new team got actually pretty good guys with them. These games are mostly  consol games. And they are meh... But you know Warhammer 40k their first serious and big game. And their first mmorpg.

For example, Trion was a very small company. And Rift their first game. But Rift actually did pretty good right? I actually don't like Rift but that's not mean Rift is a bad game.It got its own community

If Behaviour had created an mmorpg and they had failed, I'd say you're right. But this is their first try.And I can't say anything till game releases.

Thanks MMORPG.COM for this good read. To all the fans, thanks you for your support. Please stop talking about us in the 3rd person :-). The dev team and I are here and taking all your suggestions down. I have decided on a different Marketing and PR approach: NO firewall between you and the Devs. Regarding your comments about Behaviour. Behaviours is the first and oldest Canadian own Indi Studio. It has more than 20 years of making games for OTHERS (with fix time and budget limitation) and has now a top 10 game in every platform from XBLA to Itunes. It has around 300 employees making it one of the largest Canadian Own company. They master planning and are one of the most financial disciplined company.

Now Behaviour as decided to Invest in his own game with my new studio Behaviour Online. I built the studio with MMO Veteran. You will get to know them in the upcoming months.

Behaviour Online has now 2 announced project: WarHammer 40000 Eternal Crusade and Chris Roberts Star Citizen. :-)

One of the post here really gave me a good laugh. A fan was disagreeing with our Idea of Boyz being free to play because he did not want free players running around, undisciplined and bad mouthing other players!!!!  That is the definition of a Boyz!!! :-)

Regarding balance, signup for our BETA on our site and you will receive ore info about it in our newsletter but I will leave you with this: Chess is Balance but a pawn is not balanced against the Queen. ;-)

    THERE IS ONLY WAR

    Miguel

    Studio Head

    Behaviour Online.

So basically the Orks will have the upper hand, provided that the amount of "upgraded" players will be roughly the same for all factions. The Orks will end up having just as many "upgraded" players as any other faction and have all the f2p players to boot.

I think it would smarter to give each faction a f2p option, like Imperial Guardsmen or Space Marine scouts for the Imperium, cultists for Chaos and so on.
