What to do, while waiting for the next big?

IzorkIzork Member UncommonPosts: 381

Hey!

I am visiting this sub-forum, in a desperate time.

I recently became un-employed, and I am struggling to find something to pass time with. Started training again, but that's only a few hours a week...

Currently I have been playing PoE and Dota2 for a while, but PoE I just played too much and Dota2 is only a few games once in a while.

i'm just waiting for these games to release, that I hope will take my attention for a while (Wildstar, Archage, ESO and others) But they are far away, and I need something to pass my time with until then..

RIFTs recent F2P looked interesting until I saw you could buy gear. I do not approve of that.

The game I'm most interested in right now is Everquest 2, however it looks dated and I'm unsure if I'm able get a foot in it before I get bored.

What I need is something that will hold my attention until new games release..

HOPE YOU CAN GIVE ME SOME GOOD SUGGESTIONS! THANKS!

Sorry for bad grammar, english is not my native language.

In my desperation completely forgot to add what type of game I'm looking for.

Themepark - I'm all okay with this, as long as it got good content.

Sandbox - Fine! As long as I feel i can catch up to old players (EVE is a good example, where I play it for 4-5 days and then I think.. WHAT AM I DOING? And logging out, waiting a year before I try again)

Everquest 2 is the one I got eyes on, in fact downloading.. But I got my doubts, not sure it will hold my attention for long due to the fact it has been out for YEARS and I feel like it might be hard to catch up to everything.

If you're into a post-apoc type game, you might want to look into Fallen Earth.  It used to be a bit clunky, but it's free and has a pretty good crafting system that'll keep you busy. Also, as you mentioned EQ2 - I've played it on a couple of occasions, and it's actually a pretty good game.

I know you've recently become unemployed, but if you happen to find just a few extra $$ to spend, I'd also recomment Minecraft (if you don't always have it).  I'm in between games myself, having just decided to give up on DF:UW, and I always find Minecraft a good go-to game.  Good luck, hope a job finds you soon.

    Thanks for the response!

I played Minecraft to death, but I still go on once in a while, I love that game (:

Fallen Earth I played for a couple of months on release (Indeed it feels clunky...) I do like post-apoc type, however fallen earth feels abit too clunky for my taste.

One more game I thought of trying was lotro

Not what you asked for but there are some seriously good single players out there: Bioshock Infinite, Skyrim, Dishonored, Tell-Tales Walking Dead, to name a few.

Would agree LOTRO is a good choice. I've been playing LOTRO off and on since 2008 and if you can get past the lackluster combat the game really shines.

    Read a book! :D

There are a bazillion games out there to play. Just download Steam and wait for something like Alan Wake to go on sale for $4. I got "American Nightmare" for $1.50. You could also support an indie game, with decent game play for $15 or less. There are also a bunch of F2P games on Steam.

Read a book too. Jim Butcher is a good author and nearly anything by Neil Gaiman is worth reading.

Superman comes out this Friday and it sounds like it's going to be pretty good.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Sounds like a good time to learn a musical instrument!.....Instead of wasting time  playing alot of bad MMOs you could become the next Stevie Ray Vaughn.

You guys are so funny.  I'm sure the OP is looking for a job already and he's asking for what he can play due to having extra time.

I can't comment on Everquest II as I've never played it before but I'm interested in what other players who play will say on it as well.  I'm considering getting into a game that is polished and well done even if it is old because the new games are just the same ole, same ole.

    Edited for spelling.
