Spying, script stealing, and wars are all a CHOICE.  I'm talking about forced PvP, those examples are not forced.

PvP is only foisted upon you in a forbidden instance.  I'll also give you the limited resources thing, because if you don't attack - somebody else likely will.

All is a choice - you can play the game or not. Does not make it less forced PVP tho.

I'm sorry but the game -is- forced pvp, and that how it is advertised.  its a PVP game (you can attack anyone at any time) don't go make excuses to other players who complain about pvp, its not their type of game just ignore them :P

There is almost nothing else to do then Craft and PvP (and very dull npc quest) , you do guild escort mission for xp, instances for skills that give you a edge in pvp , you craft to make better gear or replace what you lost in pvp.

Everything in the game is build around pvp.

anyway, its a good game but terrible cash shop system, I just hope Age of Wulin will have a better management of the game.

Surely you acknowledge that joining an event in a game is different than simply logging into a game.

You are specifically put against opponents on those events.  You are not specifically assigned an opponent simply walking around or doing PvE in-game, with the exceptions I noted above.

That's how I'm drawing the line of whether or not PvP is "forced".

    Why would I?

You made a point that determining factor is player decision, I made a point that it is not.

Determining factor is design, not a choice you make.

You would because you otherwise sound nonsensical.  Determination is ALWAYS player decision.

There are multiple ways of playing this game, I'm sure some people do things that the developers never even considered.  You are so stuck into your myopic vision of a rather huge game that you fail to understand the options available to you.

The game is extremely heavy PvP for me because I CHOOSE it to be so.

Things don't become true based on what you CHOOSE to be true. Sorry, that isn't how it works.

That's how it works in this sandbox.

Didn't you know that their a players that do nothing but play music? Never fight but contribute so much, just by playing music. Age of Wushu turns the traditional bard "class" on it's head.

The kicker is anyone who chooses to play music and only music can, if they take up (choose)  the profession. The best part about it is that they aren't just hitting a buff button, the are playing, playing a mini game like guitar hero. There has to be atleast 50 different songs aswell.

PvP happens no matter what you do.  Every goal in the game puts you in harms way.  There are no safe zones outside of the 10x10 place you resurrect after getting layed out.  You can't craft a piece of armor without being vulnerable from the time you log in, to the time you harvest your first resource, to the time your components are put to the workbench.

If you are skilling up your meridians (stats) fighting mobs, anyone could come by and try to put the hurt on you.  If you are stealing school scripts (abilities), you can't do so without placing yourself in the middle of huge (100+) player raid where areas of school cities become massive mosh pits littered with corpses.

Even when you are doing dungeons,  you can't complete them without facing players in combat while attempting to fight boss mobs.

Literally every aspect of the game is designed around pvp interaction.

Maybe it's a function of my level, but I can count on one hand the amount of people that actually would choose to spend time to mess with me...

No, I'm not insinuating that I'm one of the best players on the server.  It's more noting that PvP is quite easy to "avoid".

Also, script stealing is instanced.  I hardly find that to be a fair example.

That said, I suppose I do a lot of the messing with people.  I will kill anyone flagged as a spy at a moment's notice while in school (yes, I know where you hide).

Also, assassins in dungeons become a freaking joke.  I run the hardest instance in the game and assassins are a total non-factor.  I usually volunteer to fight them because I enjoy toying with them....

Only problem is when the boss stuns you for 20s and then an assassin decides to go munch on your stunned ass for 20s.

You can avoid pvp, but its still there.  Theres plenty of ways to sneak around or gather materials in the more out of the way regions of the map.  Or, if its your preference, you can always find players to kill doing these things.  I especially like to hunt for guild enemies farming mats or doing daily quests.

Also, script stealing isn't instanced... it takes place in the open world which is the opposite of an instance.

PvP is a non-factor in the open world outside of cities. In cities there may be a bored player on a killing spree or an interaction between kidnapper and constable. If you are standing around killing mobs (god knows why) or harvesting you'll likely be left alone.

That is why there are more bots than players. Camp node, harvest, rinse, repeat. If a player chooses to kill the bot, they'll eventually go to jail and the bot will just go back to harvesting.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

    True for the most part.

Being in a competitive guild makes everything more interesting.  Every time I see our guild enemies, I attack them and they attack me.  If I'm gathering silk or doing just about anything in the open world, I get attacked by random players in opposing guilds.  The competition for getting and keeping guild cities makes for some really good rivalries.
