in Final Fantasy XIV

So I have a question, I bought and played FFXIV 1.0, but I never went past the free month. I enjoyed it I just couldn't get my friends to play with me. :|

So, I have an account that's linked to FFXIV but it seems the website and the website my account is on are different?

Could someone explain this to me?

    I'm not sure what your asking.  If you're in North America, you should be able to access any options associated with your Square Enix account at http://www.square-enix.com/na/account/  This includes Final Fantasy XI (after the Playonline merge) and any Final Fantasy XIV options you may have.
