THE (potential) upcoming RvR-MMO. Why has nobody posted this yet?

I was coming here to hype "camelot unchained", but I needed more rank for it. So to not get deleted, and actually spread the word, here are them facts:

Whenever you google good RvR / PvP games, good ol' "Dark Age of Camelot" (DAoC) will pop up. It was so special, because it was one of the earlier great hits, before EvE and WoW got famous and all the subscribers.

It was special because it used 3 realms instead of 2, and it did NOT mirror the classes. This brought up a whole new level of balance and fun. Also the endgame focus was PvP and not PvE.

That beeing said, today, 11 years after DAoC launched, the head behind it wants to develop the next big PvP MMO:

Camelot Unchained.

It has all the things we loved in DAOC (3 realms, no mirror classes, epic massive battles, no grinding, housing...) and introduces some new features like intense crafting. There will even be an actual crafting class.

I'm aware that there's a smaller percentage of players who'd like to focus on pvp or crafting, rather than pve. But they ARE out there, and they WANT to get good games aswell. That's what this post is about.

There's a game which needs your help and which will satisfy your needs.

tl;dr and conclussion:

check out camelot unchained on kickstarter. It's nr. 6 on the Hype scale. Two days to go to get it funded. Give it a shot - it's amazing ;)

    Because of several reasons:

    1. It is niche
    2. It has no PvE, you know that thing that gives meaning to progression and item drop
    3. The brains behind it is Mark Jacobs, the man responsible behind the trainwrecks that were Trials of Atlantis and Warhammer Online.

One of the greatest things about DAoC was the way it merged PvE in with RvR. Doing PvE helped with the RvR side and doing RvR boosted PvE skills.

From what I understand from Camelot Unchained is that there is no PvE levelling and no real PvE, so I think I will be giving it a swerve.

It's looking touch and go on the kickstarter so I guess my views are not unique. 20% short with 3 days to go.

I've been mostly on the side of CU and it's supporters, but I'm sorry I have to ask, what is amazing?

So if you buy an album from a band you like and it has crappy songs, you never listen to that band again? If you have a bad dinner, you never have that food again? What about mistakes you have made?

One thing that pisses me off about this community is the one trick pony of holding the grudge. It isn't like these developers punched you in the ball bag, they just made some bad choices with games. Give it a rest.

Look man, there are plenty of posts around that hype Camelot Unchained. The *potential* RvR MMO, as Sovrath put it.

There's no need to make an account for it.
