@CSE (Mark Jacobs) - We Know The Financial Target but How Many Backers Does the Game Need to Be Succ

Seems like the daily contributions are going up (as expected) but the average pledge per backer has jumped significantly over the past few days which can't be a good sign for CSE.

Example:  4/18 had 175 backers totalling $19K -  Averaging $108 per backer

                   4/29 has 174 backers totalling $40K -  Average of $229 per backer

While this trend may help CU squeak past the funding goal, what does the low number of backers mean for the game's longevity?

Build it... and they will come.

Personally, the low-ish # of backers is a sign of likely a few things. Either from a bad taste in some peoples mouth from ToA/Warhammer, or not enough content built to flip the non-diehards who are on the fence... or possibly just not enough marketing.

Impossible to tell exactly why the #'s are what they are, but I'm sure dozens of different people are about to give you their own opinion as to why. :)

Likely it's a combination of everything.

But if/when this funds... once it is built, I'm sure more will come rolling in. How many? Again, impossible to answer, unless you have a crystal ball.

There are always tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands people buying up the latest mmo, hoping it's the holy grail and can keep their attention, so I expect it will sell well if it's funded and will retain 25-40% of those that buy it, depending on how good the game is when it's released.
