    Sorry to burst your bubble. But George Lucas himself already did a pretty good job at that, before he sold his entire company off to Disney as final cash in onto his bank account.
     
    Disney is just cleaning up the mess George Lucas left behind and wants to start with a clean sheet.
    It sucks for all the people that got laid off, but it is what it is.

    That looks funny, but the truth is its sad that Star Wars is going in that direction. My favourite movies, stories, games of my childhood are all star wars and this pitiful company makes a toy for 6 years old children of it

    Well it might be a good thing nothing really good has come out of lucasarts for years... we might get to see more star wars based games now..

    Hopefully the license price wont be too high..

     

    I am really looknig forward to what disney will do with the movies thats for sure.

     We will have to see really. So far I think Disney isn't so bad as you think.

    They did deliver us the Pirates of the Caribean films, which were a joy to watch really. At least I enjoyed them all.

    They also did a good job with Marvel!

    And for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII film they manage to catch J.J. Abrams as director and some decent screen writers, unlike George was able to do himself with his latest Ep. 1 to 3 offerings.

    Hate to break it to you, but Lucasarts has not made a good game since Lego Star Wars. This is possibly one of the best things that could have happened for Star Wars games going forward.

    This is actually a good thing.  They're going w/ a licensing model where they can sell the rights to legitimate developers.  You'll actually be seeing more Starwars games w/ higher quality developers.

    When you think about the good games produced in the last decade that have had Starwars licensing; none of them have had LucasArts as the primary developer.

    Now the only good news could be giving out another MMO license to Sony for SWG2 .

    The market needs a real Star Wars MMO which does not feel like an interactive movie

    10 years ago this would be sad news, what have they done in the mean while? Virtually nothing. It would also be impossible for Disney to make a worse SW movie than Lucas himself did, so meh. Nothing of value has been lost!

     I guess you haven't read up on the latest news regarding the upcoming movies!

    With J.J. Abrams at the helm as director it will sertainly not be Justin Bieber as son of Luke lol.

    Seeing the great job he did with the Star Trek reboot.... I am actually looking forward to the new star wars movies.

    At the moment (at least for me) both J.J. Abrams and Christopher Nolan are one of the better game directors in the film industry!

    Yes I am quite sure the people who greenlit the production on a risky multifilm project like this:

    will just cash out on the 6-7 year old female demographic by getting Justine Bieber to be one of Luke's sons, I mean after all that demographic is the target one for most Star Wars movies of the past decade, right, right?

    I don´t mind people playing their wow clones, but there better be an alternative for people who don´t think the pinnacle of MMO gaming is a Skinner Box like SWTOR.

    Wrong, TSW would be much more popular if it would be the easy button mashing fixed class skinner box  like SWTOR. I know it´s not that popular, but that is because the mice are used to pull their little levers to get their rewards and the skinner box model is barely present in TSW. Hence, the missing market success with the conditioned OCD gamers playing WowTor.

    I'll give Disney the benefit of the doubt for the time being. I'm really hoping that with LucasArts gone, they crack the whip regarding quality control when it comes to Star Wars games. Love 'em or hate 'em, Disney does know a thing or two about producing high quality products.

     The good times for LucasArts were long over.

    All the loveable classics happened in the 80ies/ 90ies

    The last decent title in 2008 was "The Force Unleashed"

     

    They ignored people begging for an X-Wing sequel for over a decade

    They shut down SWG

    They released nothing but Star Wars titles for 10 year olds like Lego Star Wars and Kinect Star Wars.

    And thre is no button mashing in TSW? how do you play any MMO without mashing the buttons?

    TSW has raiding too. Last time i checked you raid for purples. Right now the cap is at 10.4 and good luck in PVP if you are not well geared. People standing in Agartha spamming LFG and  trying to climb the ladder from normal to hard to nightmare...sounds familiar?

    By the way you too play SWTOR (just read some of your other posts). So i will watch out before lashing out at SWTOR players..glass houses and all you know.
