    @TheScavenger

    Do you use an ingame companion and if can you recommand something ? Since I use the bow a lot more I feel quiete weak with lvl 12 currently. I did try a community companion "Tamriel" but got some issues with it, saw aswell the Cerwiden Healer with smart Ai but at the end I dont want to make the game too easy.....suggestions ?

    This mod adds a bunch of companions, among making a lot more chatter among NPCs+adds a bunch. Not all have voice to them, though. And not every voice is high quality, some are rather low.

    Outside of that, I use that Wood Elf from Riverwood. But, since I use a bow, I'll probably switch him to someone else. Something more vampire-esque or something.

    Could download a vampire overhaul (I like Better Vampires by Brehanin the best), that allows you to make any humanoid NPC you feed on, a potential companion. They even keep any magic and items they have.

    How Laenaya has evolved thus far in my Skyrim play through (not really in-character)

    -I'm a hybrid assassin/necromancer!
    -Nope, I'm a hunter that loves animals! (dunno how it got to this to be honest)
    -Nevermind, I'm a blood archer (thats what my character build really was anyway)! I just won't be a vampire.
    -Well since my last outfit is banned from Skyrim...
    -A new outfit! and it looks amazing! wait...
    -*buys Dawnguard to use new outfit as it won't work without it*
    -*might as well...*clicks buy on Dragonborn*
    -Now I'm still a blood archer, but also a vampire! since...you know...blood...archer...and I bought Dawnguard...

    All in a pretty short time too xD

    Yeah those are really good, guess I have to practice more. Mine aren't anywhere near that quality. Though I do notice a lot use much lower field of view, so I messed with that in these two screenshots...

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/208475 - I like this one quite a lot, and I took quite a bit of time to get this one right.

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/208474 - This one isn't too bad I don't think. I was messing with different FOV for this one and was first screenshot I took tonight.

    (edit: This will be how I take screenshots from now on. They come out far better (especially the screenshot in first link.) Does take me 10-20 min for each of those two shots. But much more worth it in the end.)

    I think too many images are around people and characters on nexus with extreme graphical changes, some good landscape shots are also possible.

    I'll probably take more landscape shots after this weekend. Show off what Unreal+Climates can do, but I'm just having more fun with taking screenshots of my character at the moment. Especially the new way I'm taking screenshots.

    This will be last screenshot for a bit, but this one took me literally about 40 minutes to get right. I was actually about to give up and go to bed, but at the last moment I got this of Laenaya.

    Nice shot....the console command tfc 1 / tfc 0 helps a lot with screenshots and camera moving. I would try a camera angel where you actaully can see more about her face and eyes. I like especially your screenshot "Cold of the Night"

    I did download the companion mod "Cerwiden - Smart Healer". Really good and lots of things to adjust.

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20787

    Its actually quiete cool, better than I thought. Iam struggling really without any companion right now at lvl 12 around. Without a companion I would not have finished some of the Mage College quests i.e. bringing back 3 books or surviving a wolf pack attack.

    I tried to make a landscape screenshot and did find a nice spot. ENB Unreal Cinema with bloom activated.

    I was actually kinda going for an Assassin's Creed style shot in that one, most of the face hidden by the hood. But, since I like to show what my character looks like, that probably won't be the standard. I just wanted to do something different than my previous screenshots. Thanks for the feedback though. :)

    That looks like a good companion, I like how you can change it to your preference. But I'm not sure if she goes good with a vampire character, seems a bit weird. I dunno, what do you think?

    And wow, awesome screenshot man. The lighting is perfect in that one.

    I tried out that companion. It is actually very good, and voice acted too! I still need to play more and see what (if anything) I want to change and what not. But I like all the options for her. And she actually does fit with my character, a bit anyway.

    Thanks for the suggestion :)

    Found another really cool mod which I will try next:

    "Scenic Carriages"

    Want a more immersive Skyrim experience? Enjoy the wonderful Skyrim scenery while riding in the back of a carriage (just like in the introduction!) ScenicCarriages transforms the non-moving Skyrim carriages to a fully functional carriage network! Carriages are available in all the nine hold capitals, with destination and fees based on location and distance. Ask any driver for the "Guide to ScenicCarriages" for an in-game list of routes and maps. While riding, you have the option to get out along the way (and kill off that dragon that's been circling overhead) before continuing to your destination, or you ask the driver to "Wake you up when you arrive.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7voUdSRXVDc

    edit: mod does not work for me

    There is even a mod where you can have your own "Companion Cart" ....lol

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12577

    Another mod which I did find today and will for sure try out, now how cool is this - Travel by Boat

    "Travel by Boat"

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31377

    To all non-fast travellers, here is a mod that let you wander the rivers of Skyrim by boat.
    You will find two lines : west and east, each deserved by a wooden ferry that can lead you to 15 various places. Also you will find a third line in the north. This one is a bit different, as it can lead you in real-time from Solitude to Yngol Barrow and vice-versa.

    Note that before every trips, you must free your boat from the docks by untying a rope.

    Wow, those are pretty cool. But I wonder if frame rate would drop? Since mine is rather low, I wonder...well, I'll definitely check then out. But not sure if my PC will handle it or not, I already am lucky to get 30 fps once in a while :P

    Thanks man for all these mod suggestions :)

    Well, the mod "Scenic Carriages" did not work for me. My character gets dropped from the cart after some seconds. Just a warning if you try this mod. There are scripts and dont use a save which is important for you, I did read that the mod can mess up the save if you dont follow the FAQ and deinstall guide.

    I did uninstall it again unfortunately, wished this mod would work for me since it is really immersive and one of the most interesting ones I found so far.

    In the meanwhile I did install the mod "Travel with boats" and will check it out later ingame....this mod seems to have less issues, reading the comments and offers at least some routes with scenic travelling. Looks promising...lets see.

    @Eatten, nice screenshot

    @Caldrin, I did play Skyrim only a short time after release and started playing again last week. Definately worth it and was a good decision since so many mods got released since release. Like with all Elder Scroll games, the longer you wait with playing the more interesting community content is available.

    @Castille, lol ....poor dragon :P

    @TheScavanger, there are some tools/mods out there which are increasing the performance..

    This one is using the old Windows Media Player trick:

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5695

    This one is optimizing textures and offers better compression, especially good if you have a lot of mods running:

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12801

  • TheScavengerTheScavenger Member EpicPosts: 3,321

    Let me know how you like the boat mod :)

    And thanks for the performance mods. FPS is still low, but it doesn't stutter anymore like it was before.

    However, I instead went with: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13529

    It is newer than the optimizer you linked, easy to use, quick and no problems in-game as far as I can tell.

    (edit: FPS however did go up by 5-10, like I said, still low...but the biggest thing is no more (or very little) stuttering compared to before)

    The mod "Travel by boat" is really cool. My first travel by boat was from Riverwood to Whiterun. This is quiete a short scenic ride due to the waterfalls and bridge but it showed what is possible, cant await to see the 30 minute scenic ride heheh. One event did happen, I had to rescue someone falling into the river. He did give me 100g for it.

    The companion did swim behind the boat and respawned at the Whiterun docks again.

    Try this mod for sure =)

    Tone down the bloom by a lot, and it will look a lot better. It is rather blinding on the eyes. Just a friendly suggestion :)

    i highly recommend this for anyone getting Skyrim mods. I think this mod is really well done. Since I don't just randomly fast travel, this is a great mod to realistically get around...with random events. :)

    Just a foretaste about a really nice modification which adds vegetation and another mod which adds additional buildings....I love it so far.  Really amazing, you did visit such locations so often but after the modification you think you are discovering a new beautiful area.

    Guess where is this location =)

    @TheScavenger

    Yeah, the Travel by boat mod is really cool. There was only one event where I used my last save, some kind of kidnap where I lost allegedly awareness during a boat travel from half moon mill to riverwood. After the loading screen I could not see clearly first for some seconds and noticed that I was far away in the north on a damn ice floe close to the coastline..... wtf LOL this was really unexpected but my Inventory was full and I was otw to my tree house....

    Thumps up for this mod ....its a gem.

  • TheScavengerTheScavenger Member EpicPosts: 3,321
    Too tired to make a guess out of that screenshot, but looks very nice. I won't be adding any more graphics mods to my game, but whichever mod that is, I'm sure others with better PCs can make use of :)
