As you know I rob carts. That's just what I do.
So, doing what I do, I must have robbed about 4 carts. There was guild running them. They were newbish, 3 or 4 of them. After the 4th I got a pm. They guy offered to pay me to protect their carts.
Something like 200wen (that's like copper) per cart. I told him "40 silver I'll let your guild run for the night." I had a buddy I met the other night with me so I had to make sure he got paid too. I would normally offer 20 silver in order for me to turn the other way.
They guy said 40L for two nights. "Deal," So I waited, waited some more he told me "Hold on I'm talking to Empress Wu," her guild name is the Police Department hahah. 1 min later he said "I think we will be quite safe tonight."
What he did is strike a cheaper deal with Wu and the PD instead of paying me. It was all good though, I was about to log off anyways... He'll pay soon enough one way or the other

I remember back when DarkFall launched infiltrating clans and 'exploiting' a few things just to screw them up pretty badly. It was really fun. Also making alts using high-ranked members names but alternating ' i ' and ' L ' (since they looked similar) and try to pass as one of them to steal their banks. Was really hilarious.
I'm still discovering AoW, looking at ways I can do certain things and whatnot. Probably going to take a little while. I'm waiting for that ridiculous 48 hours delay to delete my character to pass since I wasn't happy with how it turned out. But looking forward to resume my *cough* activities *cough*.
I wish you guys telling these stories would give IGNs so I could follow along more closely but I understand what that could open up to.
As long as we are telling stories. I guess in a patch about a week ago there seemed to be a switch they turned on to allow random encounters. As I was walking to a mini instance for the 2nd inner skill quest, this old man jumps out of the bushes and starts following me. You can tell these random encounter NPCs from the red lanterns they have over their heads.
So the old man offers me a book to walk up walls for 80 silver. Pretty good deal usually goes for 150+
The next day walking through a random area and here comes to old man again. This time he offers to sell me Goose skill for 300L. Now players know thats a great deal. But I am in the habit of not carrying much to avoid scams and what not. So I thought maybe I could keep the window open and run to the bank but no when I left the area, the shop and him disappaeared.
Now hoping to prevent that I started carrying about 500L on me at all times so when I saw the old man again we could make things happen. So a week goes by and haven't seen him but going through town and get hit up for a divination. So normally these are big red flags but the person was someone I had seen around. Still a voice said I should go to the bank and drop this off first just in case.
I asked the person if it was coins or silver and they said coins. I know what a pain it is to level this skill because everyone thinks you are a scammer. Usually people find a circle of firends or one person and just spam the skill until they hit daily max, I know I have done it myself. So went ahead and took the chance and what do you know, no problems 0 coins charged, just the system cost. So suggested to the person to open a stall and try outside of the Twilight Village instance. They thanked me and I see another pop up come up for the service so I figure they went to keep doing it for skill points. The charge window was empty just like when you do it for free so I clicked again and tried it.
Well what happened was is someone was shadowing this person the whole time and it was from them so when I was done 200L went out the window and right to them. They bolted down the street and were gone in seconds. Easy come easy go lol.
Just another fun day in AoW where anything can happen. Something that is easily preventable but that's on me should have took the extra few mins to bank and come back. Is kind of funny how they are trumpeting the fact that they supposedly fixwed this bug witht the fees not showing but I can tell you first hand that it is still alive and well.
Don't really have any great pvp stories so that will have to do.
I think your play style is interesting and completely valid in this game. When the population grows though, I suspect it's going to be open season on people who do this kind of thing, to the point that it will eventually become hard for you to even walk around in public. That's cool too!
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

random encounters are there from CB1
its weird, in chinese version in random encounters You can buy only lvl3 skills 250-300 and its not something that would happen to newbies
Sounds absolutely exciting; can't wait to get further into the game and learn the ropes!
This is a side question but I would like to spy. I got the weekly WV spying task and got the 20 teleport tokens. Well I havn't logged in a week and my tokens are gone. I cannot drop/pick up the task again. How can I get more of these?
And if not, I really just have to run all the way to the schools? Unless Im doing something wrong, that takes an unbeleivable amount of time.

I found no way to get more tokens until you finish the weekly and pick it up again. But, you only have to take a cart to each school once. Then set a teleport point. There is usually one right beside the spy NPC or somewhere close. Then you just teleport between there and your school. Easy.
See, but when I am in WV, the cart options dont let me select another school

Just find the closest city to the school you want to go to. Take the cart there. Then auto path on your horse to the school zone.
