    What PC chart is that?

A PC chart SWTOR ranks higher than GW2, namely the Star Wars chart.

    It's all about perspective.

BOTTOM LINE:  GW2 getting awards is as meaningful as SWTOR getting awards last year.  Hipp Hipp Horrayy!

SWTOR got game of the year 2011.  Quite a game.  SWTOR is a perfect game and the measures to judge game qualities are fair and accurate.

As I said earlier, no metric or review will satisfy the haters. This conversation is a bit pointless as your goal posts will just keep shifting. The game is successful and popular. Lurking in the GW2 forums being a troll won't make your preferred game more popular or successful.

I challenge you on that in <red>. Of all my real-life friends who play computer games, I now know 1 of 10 who currently plays Guild Wars 2 (who also played it).  The other 9 are mixed into going back to older games, or none at all.

    Popular?  Not where I live.

2 play PS2 (shiver), some went back to their old games (EQ2 & WoW) .. and a few more are with me, just waiting for either ArcheAge or EverQuest Nect .. whichever comes first.

GW2 just isn't a game that someone stays with.  It's rather boring.  The first couple weeks it was cool .. but after you see that every zone is like the last .. every mob is like the last (with a new name) .. every zone is just a big square .. no interaction (or little interaction) with other players and Mmmphh .. game isn't for me.

Dynamic Events are also a snooze fest .. Hey escort this unknown important dude .. hey collect some crap for this unimportant dude  .. hey defend this unimportant town from this unimportant wave of attacks!!   Yup that pretty much sums up GW2 lore.  Lore is what binds you to a game, talk to WoW fans.

GW2 lore is .. ohh brave warrior defends, and valiant knight comes forward!!  EPIC!!!!!  Come to think of it, this game should get an academy award!  The side story plots (dynamic events) carry this plot forward!

My server is a ghost town.  Granted SWTOR has 20 servers, and GW2 has 10, Whenever I log onto SWTOR I see other people,  in GW2 I could really use a Duke Nukem mirror, so at least I could see myself.

    Really? SWTOR has 20 and GW2 10??

    SWTOR has 23 WORLDWIDE.

GW2 has 51 only in the WEST (US+EU)

You obviously played heck out of GW2, i can tell.

SWTOR has 20, yeah. (reduced from 250 last year).

And GW2 servers are ghost towns.  It's fine if you want to defend GW2 .. blame it on people in dungeons .. blame it on how everyone is so spread out in the "vast" world.  GW2 is about as populated as SWTOR, from what it seems.  Go a long time without anyone, then see someone 10-30 minutes later.

Your SWTOR count is OK, we know it flopped and had 2 rounds of server merges. OTOH your GW2 count is...

Oh, and i did count Oceanic servers....which ARE actual a ghost towns and whole Oceanic community is literaly begging to merge those...

Im sure reading about it was great, wasnt it.

While SWTOR has more players in starting areas (being F2P) number drops rapidly after Tatooine.

    I see.

But, if ArenaNet shifts their "full" server status down from 100% to 25%, such that servers are still "full" at peak times, that is OK.

It's all in the wording apparently.. well see through the bottom line - ArenaNet adjusted their threshholds already multiple times.  Full on launch was several thousand players .. now it's a couple thousand.

So, if EA reduces the server threshhold for their SWTOR game thats one thing.

Lets see, if EA reduces their server threshhold to 500 players for "FULL", and they fill all 20 servers at "FULL" with queue times, will that impress you?

Now point where did i mention ANYTHING about thresholds/whatever and your strawman can live.

OTOH saying GW2 has 10 servers is....nothing about wording but just brings a question about you and GW2.

Everyone who reads can judge for themselves how much weight your words carry. Especially since you also managed to mention SWTOR...in the same context lol

Where i live we actually stay to the discussion and dont make strawmen to divert attention for you being awfully wrong about GW2 server number, something that every player goes through when first starting the game. Which you obviously didnt do, you just missinformed yourself somewhere that GW2 has 10 servers.

Whatever you say, it has massive servers, like SWTOR used to .  Or it has 15 or 20 servers ..it was small. So nyah nyah .. whatever.  Is that what you wanted?

The server count is small, from what I saw.

Each server is dead, from what I saw.

So the person I quote can talk about xfire but then I cant use xfire to respond to him?

    Let me guess.

    XFire can be used to:

-> Show that GW2 numbers droped from launch.

    XFire can't be used to:

-> say it is #5 game in XFire  behind LoL, COD4 & COD2 and WoW.

-> point that the launch numbers from where GW2 drop were even higher than WoW:MOP launch numbers.

-> point that GW2 has a population in XFire of around 2/3 of XFire WoW population.

-> point that SWTOR has less than half GW2 population on XFire.

Ghost town on some servers yes that is always the case with every new MMO that comes a long after a few months running.

Not all the servers are ghost towns, I'm on Far Shiverpeaks EU server and I see people in every zones, some zones there is more people then other but I hardly can call Far Shiverpeaks a ghost town server.

If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

Does this game really have more supporters than SWTOR?

My server is a ghost town.  Granted SWTOR has 20 servers, and GW2 has 10, Whenever I log onto SWTOR I see other people,  in GW2 I could really use a Duke Nukem mirror, so at least I could see myself.

    Really? SWTOR has 20 and GW2 10??

SWTOR has 20, yeah. (reduced from 250 last year).

According to XFire metrics SWTOR has less than half the players.

    /facepalm

So the person I quote can talk about xfire but then I cant use xfire to respond to him?

Hmmm no one said anything about XFIRE except for you. You are seeing things again?
