Curious on why my signature appears so big...

So I added my signature, which is a piece I did with photoshop a LONG time ago, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why the space around it is so large. Any ideas?

Because the picture is that large. The invisible part of the picture counts too and takes place, even if it's invisible.
