I haven't looked too far into it however I hear after a while you're microtransactioned to death to continue on this game. Is there any non f2p options which will allow me to buy the games and expansions and pay a normal monthly fee?

You can upgrade your account to VIP status which is basicly the same as paying for a subscription.
It's all on the Lotro Website.
