Since, this site prides itself in giving warnings and temporary or perma bans I thought it would be great if these numbers could be displayed under my name. 

 

I would love for everybody on these forums to know how many warnings, temp bans, and perma bans I have received.... I would also like to see the numbers everybody else has received. 

 

I would also like to know what  moderator gives me these warnings/bans... I think under their name should show the number of each they send out as well... good information to know.

 

This comes from my ban for quoting  post in that forum... and responding to it.

    While transparency in such things can be good for keeping tyrants in check.  It also can be very bad since most things in life are subjective and the forums would likely degenerate into nothing but a mass of arguing over who was rightly warned, banned or whatever else.

    I think if they add more stats as you put it, it should be for things like how many times you helped others in a post, how much you use the site for putting up pictures, sharing blog stuff, sharing what games you are in, dunno whatever otehr stuff that could be seen as more positive or constructive.

    I have been on this site for years. Dont post as much as some do for sure, but I have never received a warning, ban, ect that I did not deserve.

    Its only happened like 3 times, and each time it was warrented. In my personal experience the mods do a good job, you may feel different tho =)

    Getting a permanently visible record that you've been banned would be unreasonably harsh punishment for someone who has first posted hundreds of posts without any trouble, then makes a small mistake and breaks the rules once. Whereas someone who repeatedly breaks rules and gets often banned wouldn't care much if his ban counter increased from, say 6 to 7. I think punishments should be more focused at those who break the rules repeatedly.
