Photoshop Beam Tutorial - Help Me Out Photoshop People....

Can anyone help me with this BEAM tutortial. I don't know, but everytime I try this tutortial, it seems like it's incomplete. Like it was done either by a 11 year old or someone is not telling the whole thing. Or I'm not good at Photoshop CS...

Anyone who has photoshop, can you atempt to try this out? and tell me how ya did it, becuase I am stumped.

    I have no first attempt to show...all i got is a black screen of nothingness

    I went all the way to step 5 and i still see nothing on the screen. Maybe one dot but other than that nothing....
