DrDwarf, don't confuse the subjective opinion of lazyness and dumbness with Truth.
Truth has nothing to do with whether or not you think (subjective) someone is lazy or dumb.
You could just direct people to the learning materials instead of making a rage thread.
Also, you can post negatively or critically without coming off as mean-spirited.

I guess that depends on how lazy and dumb the train operators are lol
If someone is talking in general chat in a language you dont understand, chances are they're not talking to you. So chill out and stop bitching about it!
We hear it all the time ... will my i7 run GW2 etc ...
Have you no shame ? No sense of pride ?
It takes a couple of hours to go away and find then read or watch some material that will teach you enough about computers to know the answer to your questions.
What other things constitute being a lazy dumb gamer?
Originally posted by Rayshe I'm pretty active, and i can talk. Guess that means i'm neither Lazy or Dumb, must not apply to me.
Well... that's the catch though. You may be active and able to talk, but if you dont do it enough or according to someone's subjective scale (say... DrDwarf) then you may be considered (by him) to be lazy and dumb.
Originally posted by Kyus_HoB I don't think this should even start, whilst everyone can get fed up with people being a bit lazy with finding out info, this is just aggressive and not a good way to post on forums. hopefully it will be locked without anyone indulging the OP
You think lazy dumb people shouldn't have preassure put on them to stop being lazy and dumb ?
no I think people should be a bit more respectful and post in a more positive fashion. If you want an example of that look at the work Aerowyn has done on her posts and directing people to consolidated guild wars 2 information on the forums. Thats the positive way of making people look for information themselves instead of catering to every post. Your post is ill mannered and no positive will come of posting like that.
No positive ?
wow is it that time of month again for you?

It takes like ten minutes to read the required and recommended specs for the game. However, that's not what I've seen here. I've seen much more specific questions about hardware, and maximizing performance. It's a chance for some people to get educated and for some people to looks knowledgeable about computer hardware. Seems like a win/win to me.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Hmmm I would have to say someone who complains about awnsering a simple yes or no question.

Not to mention a person can have a basic knowledge but not know exactly whats an upgrade, best upgrade for the money, where to buy said upgrade ect ect. Quizz has helped me a ton when looking for laptops on whats the best value per dollar on components. Not to mention I dont think its required to really know computers to play video games. Last I checked all that was required is money, the ability to install the game, and press play.

Well, if they actually had enough track to travel 525 miles east of New York, and 1,050 miles south, they would be 1173.94 miles apart aprox!
I would hardly call it unreasonable for a person looking to find information on a new MMORPG videogame, to ask a question on an internet forum all about MMORPGs.
Surely this is an example of a person actually doing the online research the OP is expecting people to do. Surely the point of online forums is for people to discuss common interests and help each other out with this kind of thing.
There is often a lot of conflicting information online. Granted the specs needed to run GW2 are reasonably easy to find, but often people prefer to ask questions in forums because you tend to get advice from a more experienced *person* which can help make sense of the mass of information you often get from a straightforward Google search. Not everyone is good at critical analysis of data, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve a little help.
Some questions reveal how little a person knows and say a lot about their attitude.
No one is asking for an especially high level of research or "critical analysis". It is a bit of simple Internet research and some reading or watching a couple of youtube videos.
It isn't hard or time consuming to learn enough about processors and graphics cards to not be asking dumb questions.
DrDwarf, you're still missing the point. What you may find to be reasonable, may not be reasonable to another person. And what others may find reasonable, you may not find reasonable. Just as there are "dumb" and "lazy" people according to your personal and subjective scale, most likely you are also considered "dumb" and "lazy" to another person.
A person who makes $20k annualy would be considered poor by someone who makes $100k a year; but how would the person who makes $100k a year be considered by yet another person who makes $50m a year? It's all subjective.
The relative dumbness and laziness is inherent and implied.
Are you trying to say that a lazy dumb person isnt lazy becasue they (or some other people) don't agree with the assessment ?
It's obvious you're being lazy and dumb by not learning how to teach people about computers. You should learn how to be more patient with people who have problems with computing and be less lazy and dumb yourself!
See what I did there? Making generalizations is fun!

Would the track stay level with the ocean, or would it be under the water to avoid storms and such? If it is underwater, is the track straight, or does it curve down? That's going to change the numbers a bit.
For that matter, where does that East bound track from New York go? England seems like an obvious choice.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Nor do I think them asking for that type of information makes them dumb or lazy.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Until they build a machine that puts you out of business. If someone is wealthy enough to be dumb and lazy, all power to them haha :-p
The idea that truth is relative is absurd.
Thus, your claim is self-contradictory rubbish.
