Head start question

in Guild Wars 2
If i pre order the standard digital edition for Anet am i guaranteed to get the head start, or would i need to get the more expensive version? And when does head start begin.

    If you pre-order no. You have to pre-purchase to get into headstart on the 25th.

    You are guaranteed if you pre-purchase the standard. If you pre-order no. You have to pre-purchase to get into headstart on the 25th.

    Pre-order actually does have a headstart in fact. But its only 1 day, not the 3 from pre-purchasing. The version of the game doesnt effect your headstart at all, whether its standard, deluxe or even the 100$ Collectors. 

     

    Pre-Purchase   Aug 25th             Paying for the full game price up front 

    Pre-order           Aug 27th             Paying a portion of the games cost to "reserve" it. (sometimes as little as 5$)

    Launch               Aug 28th

    Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

    Amazon.com offers pre-purchase giving 5 $ of credit to buy other games. Here is the list of retailers that offer pre-purchase.
