Perfect Worlds handling of the game

OmnifishOmnifish Member Posts: 616

I'm interested to hear any opinions on how Perfect World are handling CO at the moment.

I'm not going to go into my own personal history with the game suffice to say, I started out with it, played it for a while before content issues and all the other things made me quit.

Anyway having played it again recently and enjoying it I'm wondering if investing for a bitmight be worthwhile.  One thing that's slightly holding me back though, is their rep on the STO side which seems to be even worse then before the buyout.  Considering those issues, (i.e. resource buying from cash shops, better ships from cash shops etc), is there anything cash shop related that I'll need to invest in, apart from a sub, that you'd considered mandatory for enjoyment with the game now?

Any opinions and general views welcome!

This looks like a job for....The Riviera Kid!

Champions Online is quite a bit of fun right now and they are setting things up pretty nicely for actual end game raids.

I think the main change in CO post PWE take over is the focus on quick pug content. Alerts did what CO had trouble in the past, which was making people to team. Instance teaming but it definitely took out the single player mmo feeling prior alerts. The other thing is that time commitment required is short the longest alert(special one) can be done in less than hour and the smash ones in less than 5 min.

They have stated that they want to expand a bit from alerts but at the same time not going to far from it, like creating mini-zones and things along them.

Imho, it has been a positive change, it is not like it was hard to best Atari absolute and complete neglection of Cryptic games.
