New God Ideas?

cyanide2x4cyanide2x4 Member Posts: 3

Figured there may as well be a place to post ideas as to new Gods. No need to include exact values or anything, it's the concepts and principles of the character that really matter (not that you arent welcome to do so!). Here's an obvious one to start things out;

Ares (Greek God of War)

(Passive) Adrenaline Rush:

After killing an enemy god, Ares gains a 10% increase of his damage and attack speed for six seconds, alternatively gaining half of that for assists. The effect cannot stack with itself past 10%, but each successive kill or assist refreshes the duration of the buff.

Spear of War:

Ares hurls a spear forward in a straight line, striking the first enemy hit for 50/90/130/160/200 (+100% bonus physical power). (10/9/8/7/6 second CD)

Raised Buckler:

Ares enters a defensive stance for three seconds, reducing his movement speed and incoming damage by 50% and forfeiting the use of abilities for the duration. Should Ares use a basic attack during this time, the stance is broken and his strike deals an additional X (+20% magical power) magical damage, where X is the amount of damage absorbed by the reduction. (20/18/16/14/12 second CD)

To Battle!:

Ares places a banner in front of him which grants nearby allies and additional 10/15/20/25/30 armor and magic resistance. The banner remains for six seconds. (30/27/24/21/18 second CD)

(Ultimate) Phantom Chariot:

Ares summons a chariot to carry him forward for six seconds, increasing his movement speed to 140/150/160/170/180% of it's current value. During this time, Ares cannot attack or use other abilities. He also ignores unit collisions, dealing 10% of the maximum health of any enemies struck as magical damage. Enemies can only be damaged by this ability once per use. (120/110/100/90/80 second CD)

Oh awesome! Mine would be /ame no Uzume no Mikoto, the goddess of dawn, mirth, and revelry!  (Ama no Uzume fofor short)

    Support/Tank.  Melee

    Passive :

    Tub Trap :

Ame no Uzume jumps up with her tub and trap a person for 3 seconds, making them immune to damage and unable to move/attack.  This move can trap both an ally or an enemy and puts Ame no Uzume on her tub.   This also prevents Ame no Uzume from moving for 3 seconds and grants her a ranged attack that deals 10/20/30/40/50 bonus damage + 30% of her magical power.  Cooldown - 9 seconds

    Call to the Tub:

Ame no Uzume smacks the back of her tub three times, increasing the movespeed of allies by 10%/15%/20%/25%/30% for 5 seconds and healing them for 50/60/70/80/90/100 + 15% of her magical power per strike.

If she is on her tub, allies trapped will be healed for  50/70/90/110/150 + 30% of her magic power per hit.  Enemies trapped under will take 50/70/90/110/150 + 30% of her magic power per hit and be slowed by 50% for 2 seconds after Tub Trap fades. Cooldown - 15 seconds

    Hide/Joke:

Ame no Uzume attempts to hide in her barrel for 2/3/4/5/6 seconds and absorbing 100/200/300/400/500 damage +100% of her magical power.  If the hide is successful, call to the tub cooldown is reduced by 5 sseconds.  If she is on top of the tub, the skill fails and she tells a joke, healing herself for 5%/10%/15%/20%/25% of her hp + 50% of her magic power and increasing her allies physical and magical protection by 10/20/30/40/50 for 10 seconds.  Cooldown - 20 seconds.

    Dance of Laughter

Ama no Uzume and performs a dance, making all enemies within 35m stare and laugh uncontrollably for 3 seconds. Enemy target trapped in the tub will take 100 damage per second +100% of her magical power for 3 seconds. If an ally is trapped in the tub, the ally is healed for 200+ 100% of her magic power per second.  Can only be performed while Ame no Uzume is on her tub.  Cooldown - 120/110/100/90/80 seconds

I don't know what characters are already in SMITE, and he technically isn't a god, but...

    Sun Wukong, The Monkey King.

Hitting people with his extending staff, riding around on a cloud... how could that possibly go wrong? D:

I think having Chronos, Hephaestus, and Poseidon would be pretty cool. They would need to have their symbolic weapons, like Chronos is the god of time, Hephaestus with a big hammer, and Poseidon with his trident.

I think for some new maps it would be cool to have Greek Titans, instead of the Minotaur (which is greek anyways). It would look cooler, and the fights would better than dull brown bull swinging an axe at you. Maybe like Menoetius titan of violent anger, rash action, and human mortality, Pallas Titan of warcraft, or Perses Titan of destruction and peace. I suppose playing them would be cool too, but I just think the Minotaur is kinda lame.

  • cyanide2x4cyanide2x4 Member Posts: 3

Yeah, Hephaestus would be amazing! You could have lots of fun with his skillset, definately incorporate some sort of deployable or something along those lines. And nice job castillle, looks good. image

If we're thinking Greek gods, Athena might be worth consideration as a god herself. I thought another great option would be Morpheus, the god of dreams. There's a lot of potential in a God who can sort of bend reality and maybe manipulate his enemies in various ways!

And lastly, new pantheons? I was thinking they should bring in stuff like Aztec, Japanese, and maybe some Native American deities. Stuff like Quetzcoatl (just one example, but lots of really neat ones in Aztec mythology) or maybe Amaterasu from the Japanese could easily be made into characters. Keep the ideas coming! image

    Another idea, this time from the mayan pantheon;

    Camazotz (The Bat God)

    (Passive) Crimson Catalyst:

Camazotz takes great excitement in the scent of blood, causing his basic attacks to deal an additional 10% of his magic power when the target has less than 30% health.

    Bloodsucker:

Camazotz takes a bite out of an adjacent foe, dealing 40/70/100/150/200 (+20% magic power) magic damage and healing himself for half of the damage dealt. If there are multiple targets in range, the ability prioritizes the target with the highest remaining percentage of health. (16/15/14/13/12 second CD)

    Violent Breeze:

Camazotz unleashes a gust of wind in a straight line, slowing any enemies hit by the torrent by 30% for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds. After the air clears, a slight breeze remains for six seconds which grants allies a 15% movement speed buff. (27/24/21/18/15 second CD)

    Self Sacrifice:

Camazotz sacrifices his own blood to attack his foes in a cone, dealing 10% of their maximum health in true damage at the cost of 10% of Camazotz remaining health. (20/17/14/11/8 second CD)

(Ultimate) Descent of the Death Bat:

After casting, Camazotz flies high into the air. A second later, he descends upon the nearest enemy God at blinding speeds, dealing 180/260/340/420/500 (+20% magic power) magic damage on impact and stunning himself and the target for 2 full seconds. During this 2 seconds, Camazotz gains a 50% increase of armor and magic resistance. (90/85/80/75/70 second CD)

Hekatonkheires, The Hundred-Handed One.I think this would be pretty cool as a god for SMITE. what do you think about it.

  • SquatchinSquatchin Member Posts: 93

Gods that need to be incorporated.

    Thor-Thunder god, nuff said.

Set-Egyptian god of the desert, chaos

    Quetzalcoatl-The feathered serpent.

    Monthu-Egyptian Falcon god of war

Shezmu-Egyptian god of execution, slaughter, blood, oil and wine.

Just a few ideas. Would be an even better game once we have more choices in gods.

I know there are some Gods coming in the future, such as Fraya, Isis, Loki, Ares, Fenrir, etc. But I would love to see an expansion into other Pantheons, such as the MesoAmerican or sumerian Pantheons.

    Groovy.

How about everyone's favorite god, Cthulhu?

I am not sure what his role will be, so I am just filling out abilities that I think fit.  Also I have absolutely no idea how the system Smite uses works, so please correct me if I use a term that doesn't exist in the game, if values are unrealistic, if he sounds OP, or anything.

    (Passive) Insanity's Gaze:

Any enemy god that Cthulhu looks at suffers from a movement and attack speed debuff of 5% that lasts indefinitely as long as Cthulhu is looking at them.  Any enemy god that looks at Cthulhu while Cthulhu is looking at them for more than 3 seconds is paralyzed and suffers from a 10% defense debuff (looking is represented by an invisible 90° cone that comes out in front of the god and goes out bout 5 meters)

    Howl from the Depths:

Cthulhu lets out a earth shattering howl, sending out earthen shrapnel in all directions.  Gods hit by shrapnel take 30/70/110/150/180 damage, and Gods that are within 3/2/1 meters receive a debuff that decreases all stats by 4/5/7% for 6/8/10/12/14 seconds (12/11/10/9/8 second cooldown).

    Soul Eater:

Cthulhu devours the soul of a target god, damaging them and healing himself for 13/16/19/21/24% of his total health.  If the god dies while under the effects of Soul Eater, respawn timer is 25/50/75/100% longer (25/23/21/19/17 second cooldown).

    Yog-Sothoth Beckons:

Spawn an immobile rift in reality through which a tentacle of Yog-Sothoth protrudes.  Said tentacle targets the nearest enemy god and wraps around them, immobilizing them.  The tentacle of Yog-Sothoth applies an armor and magic resistance debuff that decreases armor and magic resistance by 5 points and decreases by another 5 points every second for 8 seconds.  Any and all gods can attack the tentacle of Yog-Sothoth, but cannot kill it.  Dealing enough damage to the tentacle will only release the god it is holding.  Additionally the tentacle can only hold onto a god for 5 seconds before they let go, but if a god does not force the tentacle to let go before 5 seconds are up, an additional debuff is applied that decreases movement speed for 12 seconds (once a god is released by the tentacle of Yog-Sothoth, they cannot be retargeted until all debuffs caused by the tentacle disappear).  The tentacle has a reach of 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 meters, takes 300/350/400/450/500 damage before releasing a god, and lasts for 2/3/4/5 seconds after gods move out of range (90 second cooldown).

    (Ultimate) R'lyeh Rises!:

Cthulhu targets a certain area on the ground and R'lyeh explodes from the targeted area.  R'ley counts as an environmental obstacle and is impassable, even by abilities that allow gods to pass through envronmental obstacles.  Enemy gods near R'lyeh suffer a movement and attack damage debuff, and R'yeh summons bot controled mobs called Starspawn.  Starspawn have 100/150/200/250/300 health, and deal X/X+5/X+10/X+15/X+20 damage per attack.  Starspawn continually pour out of R'lyeh as long as it remains on the field, which is 30/33/36/39/42 seconds, after which R'lyeh disappears (300 second cooldown)

Since when is Tuesday a direction?

I would actually like to see the Lovecraftian Pantheon (I guess that would be what it's called?) show up in a few places. Not just Cthulhu, but maybe Hastur, or Narlathotep.

Problem is, aside from Cthulhu, most of them look like a bunch of blobs with eye and tentacles.

    Groovy.

Which is why I made Yog-Sothoth appear as a tentacle appearing through a rift in reality.

Well, honestly, your idea for cthulhu was pretty overpowered.

Cthulhu would just have to go into a lane with a DPS God to completely destroy everyone.

    Groovy.

Well, I did state that I have no idea how the SMITE system works, so thanks for pointing that out.  Hopefully I can make a better god next time.

Maybe have his passive as an activated ability, and replace that with something that builds physical/magic power. Maybe have his passive give a debuff to his target while giving a buff to himself. R'ley or the portal would work as a ultimate.

His howl could slow enemies and do damage, instead of destroying their stats. Personally kind of see Cthulhu as a range/mage character more than anything else.

Now, if Hastur was in this, I'd say he was a melee/ultility

    Groovy.

There is a whole portion of God's that would be a nice addition to the game. These gods were forgotten (distroyed) from a portional time in history that remains intreasting . Here is an article describing each one who existed more than 1400 years in the Arabian peninsula. The main god in the Arabian peninsula was Hubal (Arabic: ????), who is regarded as the most notable and chief of the gods. An idol of Hubal, said to have been near the Kaaba, is described as shaped like a human with the right hand severed and replaced with a golden hand.[2]

The three daughters of Hubal, who were the chief goddesses of Meccan Arabian mythology, were Al-l?t, Al-‘Uzzá, and Man?t. Each is associated with certain domains and had shrines with idols located near Taif[3] which have been destroyed.[4] All?t (Arabic: ??????) or Al-l?t is the goddess associated with the underworld.[5] Al-‘Uzzá (Arabic: ??????) "The Mightiest One" or "The Strong" was an Arabian fertility goddess. She was called upon for protection and victory before war.[6] Man?t (Arabic: ?????) was the goddess of fate; the Book of Idols describes her as the most ancient of all these idols. An idol of Man?t was erected on the seashore in the vicinity of al-Mushallal in Qudayd, between Medina and Mecca. The Aws and the Khazraj, as well as the inhabitants of Medina and Mecca and their vicinities, venerated Man?t and performed sacrifices before her idol, including offering their children. Pilgrimages of some Arabs, including the Aws, Khazraj, Yathrib and others, were not considered completed until they visited Man?t and shaved their heads.[7]

    Dushara, National Museum of Damascus
    Other notable gods
Manaf (Arabic: ?????) was a god related to women and menstruation.[3]
Wadd (Arabic: ???) was a god of love and friendship. Snakes were believed to be sacred to Wadd.[3]
Amm (Arabic: ???) was a moon god worshipped in ancient Qataban. He was revered as in association with the weather, especially lightning.
Ta'lab (Arabic: ?????) was a god worshipped in southern Arabia, particularly in Sheba and also a moon god. His oracle was consulted for advice.
Dhu'l-Halasa (Arabic: ?? ???????) was an oracular god of south Arabia. He was venerated in the form of a white stone.
Al-Qaum (Arabic: ??????) was the Nabataean god of war and the night, and also guardian of caravans.
Dushara (Arabic: ?? ??????) was a Nabataean god, his name meaning "Lord of the Mountain"
