There was a thread some time ago where a dude said he was saved from MMO's by all the sucky games released lately. I have to agree with him in a way. A lot of the new games released are crap, SW:TOR, Tera and so on. But the genre is dead for the players that have played ANY mmo the last past 6-7 years.
We have seen everything and nothing the game developers are going to release is going to change that. MMO's are MMO's and that means progression for your character in some way. May it be levels or skill advacement, it has been done. There won't be any jesus games released that changes the genre. Players are just sick of the genre.
And I'm one of the players seeing the games for what they are. Same old, same old.
The genre is dead.

The virtual world is dead. Well, other than a small handful of games, it's dead.
Shallow, easy games still persist. And, most of them continue to get more and more shallow with every title.
Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
MMO's might be dead, but creating yet another new thread to say the same thing cerrtainly is alive and well.
