The people at Shadowbane have now introduced us to LeadReporter, one of their most trusted heralds. Today, LeadReporter brings us an example of his work by posting a report on an event called "The Siege upon the City of Vigil":

Who: Aeturnas Trinitas (D) vs. The Knights of Silvermoon (A)
What: Bane on the City of Vigil (Capital)
When: 7:00 PM PST, September 15, 2005
Where: City of Vigil
Server: Test

Outcome: Aeturnas Trinitas (v.)

Pre-bane

At around 6:00 PM PST both teams began to rally at their respective cities. Silvermoon began moving towards the objective 15 minutes later. Upon their arrival they were met with an array of guards. For the next hour, there were small skirmishes, but no real engagements. During the lull in fighting, I asked both commanders their opening opinions on the bane. Trywolf, the leader of Aeturnas Trinitas at the time, had only these words for SM “Watch the flames burn all that sin.” Ralk only said that it’s “Great to be back after a year!” As the bane time approached live and no major fights occurred, it appeared that Aeturnas Trinitas would sally forth and drive their foes back when the bane went live.

Live Bane

As soon as the bane was live, Aeturnas Trinitas sallied forth out of their town to engage their besiegers. A solid wall of Templars emerged leading the pack as they charged into SM. Within moments the Templars we upon the cathedral’s men, tearing into them. The Templars were aided by Confessors and Channelers and their fiery blasts. Silvermoon was indeed taking a beating from the temple, however, the church would not take this damage lying down and began smiting their foes with blasts of holy energy. For a moment the area was fully of holy and fiery death. The clash was short but intense. I’d pity any vampire caught in the middle of this battle. It was utter chaos in the heart of the battle. Swords and bolts of fire rained down on the cathedral’s men, and even with the heals they were no match for the massive amounts of DPS being inflicted upon them. One by one, Silvermoon’s men fell. Not to say, they went down easily and without a fight. Much on the contrary, they claimed a good number of the temple’s men before finally succumbing to the fire and slipping into the void...
