Arena.net has released a brand new video with game designers Matt Witter and Mike Ferguson talking about the 3-faction World vs World system in Guild Wars 2. The pair introduce players to the system and the video features some great in-game footage. Check it out!

    Kind of reminds me of Factions PvP in Felucca in UO:R after the split - but with seige weapons.

    Hey if you want to play games like Aion 1.5 and spend all your time ganking people with severly less gear then you then go ahead.  I loved Aion pvp and in someways prefer it to the team vs team pvp in gw2 but from what i have played in beta of WvW rifting in aion doesn't compare.  All your time is spent grinding for better ap gear and hoping that your party of 35's meets a few average 50's to kill and get some meaningful ap.  That or you spend your hours running dredge either facing noobs, pubs, or hackers with only an occasional fair but difficult fight.

    You can make plenty of valid points about gw2 and definately not like it but you really hurt your argument when you make clains like f2p not being a good monitization when anyone who knows anything about the game industry knows that right now f2p games are making greater profit margins than subscription games.

    And hell even if what you say is true it will still be the first time i have ever heard someone complain about a game bumping out new content faster rather than slower.

    I pre-ordered and I have to say I can't wait to start playing.

    Some times it looks like people are looking forr the "perfect game" or "the next big thing". Well they probably are going to be disapointed many many times.

    So if you don't like the game just don't play it, stop acting like only you know how a good game should be. If everybody had the same opinion the world would be very boring.

    Lot of ppl have been waiting for DAOC evolution of 3 factions. Wish games companies would go low on the personal presentation and higher on the concepts and diagrams eg how WvWvW fits together. *shrugs*.

         Hey zenomex. You do know that Aion is F2P right? Aion pvp is pathetic by comparison to this, but i guess you may argue otherwise if your lacking in skill to the point where a non-gear based pvp game is threatening to you. I played Aion from the chinese beta to now (still playing atm). Aion pvp can be good, but the points where you have actual good pvp in Aion is so few and far between thanks to the huge gear differences and the hacking which ncsoft does nothing about, and of course the zergy fortress battles where half the people involved are lagging to the point of not being able to respond to attacks.

         To call Aion pvp superiour simply indicates that your only interest in pvp is in ganking players that dont stand a chance. I do it plenty myself with my uber geared out twinks, but it gets old. i find it far more satisfying when pvping those who have a shot at killing me and who see me coming and run towards rather than away from me. GW2 offers far more of such opportunities than Aion does. But hey enjoy Aion, i hope your still playing it when they shut off the servers in NA in 3-6 months and you have no more players to gank.

    wooo mods are in full force on this site once again time to be good ! Seriously how can anyone with a straight face say Aion has better pvp.

     

    I dont think we are getting much new for world vs world as they are still fixing some of the bugs before release.

    Aion - hey gusy i farmed a  year for my gear now i can start owning

    SWTOR - Illum 10 fps pvp with massive d/c and unbalanced shit

    GW2 balanced PvP, how can you hate that ? :)

    Now those pro players who rofl stomp other players with massive gear advantage gets owned by dads and moms who know how to play their class rofl :)

    Yeah me and my wife are ready to kick some bud inthere.

     Like we did in BWE3 :D !!!

    I see they made no comment concerning the fact that the first group to move into the battle grounds will forever have the edge.  Terrain allows for you to attack from one keep to another, providing you are coming from a certain direction, while the keep under fire can not return fire.  Once the first faction has control, a very minimal number of players can keep control of the WvW arena while the rest go and skill up and gather better gear, with the buff enhancements that their realm is recieving for owning the map.

    GW2 is theme-park mmo game. 

     

    WvW, I think, is a bit of a gimmick. To make it work the worlds would have to be significantly different, but no, the worlds are all the same, so just a PvP gimmick.  Probably will be fun initially, but I just wonder if there is any real persistence or thinking behind this, after all when you win WvW you are just beating whatever is randomly queuing, so could just have same server WvW, it amounts to the same thing in the end.
