Hi op, sorry i am really not the best pvp players and i was destroyed with my friend in wow arena or bg all the time. I like this game because i can finally kill someone :). And that is not negative for me it is very positive that casual players like me who are not very skilled have  same chance in pvp. It is not easy because of some low damage or something like that, it is because of ''brute force'' combat, there is no need to be pvp fanatic to have some nice kills.  My favorite game forever :)

Its easy because its new. Once you know what needs to be done you will be able to do it in your sleep.

Lol, every MMO has been easy since WoW, except maybe the Secret World and Vanguard due to the game being group oriented.I didn't ever once find GW2 hard at all.

The reason I didn't die as much as I could have is because the betas were simply PACKED with people, it was the most intense and successful beta I've been a part of, and for that reason there were always plenty of people around to save my tuckus when I got AOE'd by the scaled-up enemies...

But what people have to ask themselves is... when the servers are low pop or the initial thrill wears off, how do you suppose you'll survive against a wave of Krait or pirates?  People are misinterpreting the difficulty because of the amount of assistance readily available.  It's going to be hard if there's no one around.  Enemies hit like a ton of bricks.

The increase in rate of death shouldn't be all that noticeable, as it scales, NPCs were hitting as they were I"d assume due to the amount of people.

With thief it's easy to stay alive largely due to the escape abilities (which I will say I had to use quite a bit), didn't try any other classes yet.

True, but a lot of people noticed that solo'ing is just as difficult or moreso, the enemies still hit hard when no one's around.  Or at least, they seemed to.  The only difference is, from reading all about GW2 over the past year, I expected them to hit hard in groups... solo not so much, but I don't recommend wandering into some zones alone.

Haven't played Vanguard but TSW is easy as hell as well.

Well maybe yes, but to get even rating over 2k in wow arena is very hard and some guys have over 3k. This kind of players are pvp fanatics and i am really not willing to learn all wow classes to be able to counter in pvp. GW2 is much better and easy to play in pvp for us casual players

You obviously were not in WoW´s launch when:

    1) wearing full white + a couple greens was the norm and the items had literally 3 times less stats.

    2)  Spells and talents at low level were ridiculously weak and non dps classes struggled to kill monsters

    4)  Monsters were 3 times stronger ( literally ) and a lot of quests had you face powerful elite monsters.

    5) Not finishing the first dungeons till well into your 20´s despite the fact they were made for lv 15 was the norm.

Just to name a few things.

Yeah, to my beta experience,  GW2 is easier than WoW at launch.

Does that make it " a noobish easy mode game"  Not by any extent of imagination.

But yeah, it´s kinda silly to make this kind of comparison.

Blizzard trivialize the content of WoW with each expansion they release for a reason. So people can reach max level faster because thats when "the game begins".

In my experience in GW1, Anet never trivialized their content. Not even with the expansions.

I expect they wont do it in GW2 either. Even more, knowing the scaling system which guaraties challenging content at any level anywhere in the world.

That's the point though.  Unlike GW2, it doesn't matter how well you know your class in WoW if the other guy has high resilience, it's practically pointless to attack him unless you have backup.  Skill is often out the window in situations like this.  I had fun in WoW PvP but not so much at end game.  It didn't matter how good I was; if I didn't put in the time to grind for gear, I was as good as toast.

I preferred the difficulty level in BW2 though at times it was frustratingly hard. BW3 was easier, but the game is still harder then any mmo I've played. AoC I played a naked necro to max level which is just plain silly.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.

Heh, well a necro there has so many pets that it didn't matter what you wore. An assassin would be an entirely different story.

I don't think the OP was trying to say that GW2 was hard, only that it wasn't "easy mode" like players claimed it to be. I myself have yet to come across a game that is truely challenging... maybe the olympic sport games. :)

So you compared GW2... to YOUTUBE FOOTAGE of two of the MOST CASUAL online games out there?

WoW is probably one of the simplest MMOs on the market.

    Yes, GW2 is easy.

People has got difficulty burned into their brain lol, it's a mmorg bits are easy bits are hard. It's not really a end-game boss only type game with a single factor to deem 'skill'. You can however measure complexity, and gw2 destroys wow in terms of complexity.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

All MMOs are easy these days in my opinion, and until we get back to actually punishing people for dying, it is going to stay that way as far as I'm concerned.
