I am not sure how to articulate this exactly. The best thing I have come up with is : "Revamp the site so that posters have more personal investment in their posts"
As everyone is aware .. the anonymity of the internet means a normally reserved, patient and articulate person turns into a psychotic raving lunatic at 4am (im guilty of this as well) or when the 10th person replies with l2p or orly .. or w/e
The only ways I can think to change this (and it's definitely debatable as to whether it should be changed) is to give us control of our posts. Allow us to moderate our posts. Allow us to delete replies or at least downrate them so that they are hidden by default? Make the posts OURS.
Allow us to block users from replying?
Again .. should any of this be done? idk .. I think so .. but I could be wrong.
LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity.
I am, usually on the sandbox .. more "hardcore" side of things, but I also do just want to have fun. So lighten up already

Discussions are created to, well, allow discussion. Being able to moderate your own threads in this manner doesn't really allow for that.
If someone is posting in a thread (your own or otherwise) and they are in violation of our Rules of Conduct (flaming, trolling, etc) simply ignore them and report the post. We'll take care of it!
