PvP still forced after Level 25 ? AION 3.0

GoromhirGoromhir Member UncommonPosts: 463

the main reason i left this game was the forced to PvP after Level 25.

Did they finally fix that ? Can i completly disable PvP for my character in this game ?

i am not interested in PvP, i just want to do the PvE content.

Free or not, if i cant diable PvP this game is worthless for me..

anyone ?

It's really forced? What happens at 25? I think I've only reached level 18 or 20 or so.

More like this is the only reason, why the game isnt dead yet,

and you can easily avoid pvp after 25 if you want to, not always, but mostly

yea i transferred my original back in nthe days account to free to play made new char and after 25ish i had to fight against enemy faction players while doing normal quests, but i know the pvp in form like it is and always was in aion was ment to be that way.

Sorry pvp is still there. Kinda sad people can't live with pvp anymore, it adds into the gameplay and makes things more hectic. They did give some buffs so ganking is more difficult, giving players a chance against enemies trying to take advantage of them but it isn't compeltely away.

Either way Aion is probably a bit to hardcore for you. I heard Hello Kitty Online has a very friendly system where the only kind of PvP you need to worry about is lots of hugs and friendly kisses! Sounds just like up your pansy, I mean friendly alley.

Oh yeah, and I'm a meh pvper, I prefer pve in MMos :)

the way to gather more players in aion who dont so much like the forced pvp is to remove random rifts and just concenrate having pvp in abyss. of course you could travel to enemy maps if you so please but random rifts i think is the main issue.

Pretty much this post is the reason people do not like pvp in many games.

For the North American servers, avoid Kahrun server and you can have very little PvP if you choose after level 25.  The official game forum has some posts explaining which areas to avoid if you wish to avoid PvP.   I've met plenty of players on Aion who focus on PvE only.  Please be aware that if you choose to play PvE only, you WILL need to avoid certain zones and instances.

There was a short time when they had major debuffs to the gankers rifting into enemy territory to gank the level 28s.  There were enough vocal complaints that they decided to nerf and remove such debuffs making it back into a gank-fest again.

In essence unless you want to die to gankers A LOT you end up having to group to do solo quests -- or you have to have a high level from your guild babysit.

After all i read here i decided to  delete AION from my Harddisk. It was nice to play a Cleric to level 15 for free, to bad NCSoft has no pure PvE server.

It cant be that hard and expensive to introduce a 100% PvE server.... if they ever decide to , i gladly join again.

Simply a "Disable/Enable PvP" every 5 min, option would do it for the most players that like to play PvE. The gankers couldnt attack and the PvE players wouldnt leave AION and eventually buy something from the store.

    for now, bye bye AION

to ask for a pve server for a pvpve game is just ridiculous. if u are a pve only player, this game is not for u. you should always inform yourself before startin playin a game. so good luck findin a game that fits your interests.

I played this game for several weeks and enjoyed it  immensely.  Then my level 14 character was out "picking flowers" one day and a ?? level character uncloaked and tried to gank me.  I popped a stun then popped a sprint buff, managed to run away, cast a portal, jumped through the portal to safety, logged out of the game, uninstalled the game, and never played it again.

i thought AION was a PvE game!!! WTF

Zergs of sorcs, tanks and healers- its not what u call PvP.

theres pvp in a pvp-centric game? oh the horror

seriously now, why are people so anti pvp nowadays? It surely makes things more interesting, as you can only play while watching tv for so long... in pvp games you have to actually pay attention while playing, and cant play while doing other 3 things at the same time, and people take that as a bad thing ? :p

althro forced pvp has its ugly sides, but there are many people who like pvp and dont just go around ganking all the defensless people they see. But it just takes a few people to give pvp games bad name.

One thing i'd like to see more in mmos is 'massive' part of it though, so people who get killed by higher lvls dont just ragequit but ask for some higher lvls they know/ faction mates for help instead.

Sadly, most people who play mmos now want to solo 99% of the game, so suggestions like 'why dont you ask for help, or team up' sound so alien to them.

not Anti PvP just want a relaxed play after work. do some quests, craft some and good. not interested in getting ganked by little kids appearing in hordes or with a super twinked out character.

NCSoft could offer a 24 hour or 1 week  "NO PVP" token in their shop.........  guess what ?  i would buy it :)

the problem is that if ncsoft made a pve server, then gankers wouldn't have carebears to kill anymore

that why most pvpcentric games fail or do poorly.. gankers prefer the esiest prey and pve'ers(care bears) dont like to be content for pvp'ers.  PvP in a mmorpg is NOT self sustainable.

Uh, there's pretty much no forced PvP now if you roll on Israphel, Tiamat, or Siel.   There's a 80%/40% debuff to rifters in the PvE zones for each side, which means it's VERY rare for the opposing side to come to your side and start killing lowbies.   Even when they do, the debuff makes it hard for them to kill you before you can run away.   There will still be cases where a group of extremely over geared players will band together to roam, but with the debuffs on it's so rare that you'll most likely never see it.

There's no reason to go into the Abyss at 25 now, as there's much better ways of leveling with new personal instances and increased exp from quests and campaigns.

The new end game zone has PvP disabled for most of the areas.   There are select 'contested' zones where PvP is enabled, but they tell you when you're entering one such zone and there's very little reason to enter them if you don't want to PvP or do PvP related quests.

Ie, as long as you don't roll on Kahrun, Aion 3.0 is a PvE player's paradise.

You can't disable PvP as such, but you can avoid it entirely for the majority of the game if not the entire game. (I've only made it to level 50 so far.

if you're asmodian, just do Altgard quests up to the lvl 16 dungeon, which you can effectively use to level you to 25 if you want (I did it about 10 times before I ended up tired of it) but you can travel to brusthonin at 20 and start doing quests there.  At 25 you have NTC, that you can repeat until you're level 30 and then switch to Fire Temple (chance at PvP if you're wating outside) then move to Kromede's Trial at 38 and steel rake at ~40. SR can level you to 45 easy and then back to brusthonin for more quests. There is solo dungeons after 50 as well.

    Well thats a surprise.

Subbed for more than a year but never saw any signs of PvP. Lots of PvG, ZvZ and ZvP but PvP? Nope never saw any of that in this game.

A lot of ppl left after they came to exactly that realization and NC-Soft tried to pad the holes with rifting debuffs. A simple flagging routine would have kept a lot of people playing but nvm. Sounds like the ZvP/PvG players got what they wanted.

Still: Too bad they never managed to introduce PvP in an otherwise nice game.

We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!
