I wish they would make Eve more accesible. God

Like don't they know that most of us just want to log in and start having fun? We just want to kill mobs and each other. What is with the heavy emphasis on learning all the ships and intricate details of the game? Talk about a barrier to entry, no wonder this game came no where near WoW in epic funness not to mention subscribers.

First thing they should do is make some sort of quest-like progression so I can hit max level and get to the end game and the pvp.

Second, they should make it F2P so that the game gets a bunch more players and becomes a whole lot more fun.

Yeah, EVE needs to be a lot more like Modern Warfare.

Bah, your form is good, but you need just a little bit more practice and expertise to really nail that expert level troll speak.  Read through some of my old posts.  It truely is an artform.  You must be VERY subtle.

You obviously understand the progress MMOs have been making, I dont know why Eve shouldn't take some of the better aspects of games like MW3 (look how well that games doing) and WoW(came up with pretty much all the best MMO standards). and start making some money for the Devs. God knows they are probably making next to no money and probably didn't cover production costs.

Dust looks epic. Ill be poopsocking it for sure when that comes out.

Edit: Im also waiting on the rapture. Personally I think the baby Jesus would probably make a really epic MMO.

Or, you could just play Dust and walk away from the thread before you get hurt.

I dont get it. Im just trying to promote standard MMO models that we have come to learn over the past few years. They should be in every MMO so they all can make the Devs a lot of money. Cause if the Devs are making money, then we know the game is good.

Or maybe they could just keep developing the game that's been alive since the early 2000's and has a solid (if not enormous) player base. If you want a space game to hit level cap fast play star trek online (it's even free so when you decide you hate it because it's not WoW you're out nothing).  If you want WoW play WoW, otherwise shut up and put effort in to something for once in your life.

I can understand where you are coming from, but man, just take your time with the game.

I played it for awhile myself and the learning curve isn't too bad, but you know what? When you learn something in Eve and then the ships , you feel more satisfied with what you are doing, personaly, cookie cutter games like WoW are the reason why the MMO genre is in dire straights, we need games that require thinking and alittle harder than that BS what we call games like WoW.

Man I miss my old days in EQ where you couldn't solo past level 10 ( you could if you were a Necromancer :) )

Thanks for the tip Aeol. Yea Im really into twitch gaming. The kind of stuff that takes actual skill. I mad pwn bitches in MW3. I heard Tera was going to be really great action and PvP at first. But since, I have heard its a grindy mess.

God I just think MMO devs that put grind in their games are so lazy. Its like, put some content in your games. Im paying for them. I dont want to be spending all my free time lvling up, I want tons of new dungeons and instances. You know endgame content. I also dont want to be spending all my time trying to get my gear. I absolutley hate gear up to gear up to gear up bs.

Progress toward bad.  Seems all new mmos are about massive hype and meaningless gameplay to get as many 1 month players before going to the dust bin.

LOL I hear ya , but every game any game, as a form of " Grind" I remember grinding mobs in everquest for like 15 hours straight and litteraly falling asleep or passing out at my keyboard LOL when I wake up my mod I was camping for 24 hours because they have a 24 hour cool down plus only spawn once a week, I wake up dead, the mob killed me and he was gone Arrrg, to me thats true grinding, but tera isn't a bad game at all, CAN get alittle stale to be honest, but don't take other peoples word for it, try it yourself and you might be surprised man!!

    One word for you still

    PLANET SIDE 2 and I can't wait either :P

i wholeheartedly agree with the OP.  i think a large part of the problem is that the devs only listen to the hardcore players, who of course, already know how to play inside and out.

there is just very little to compell a newb to keep pushing past the obscure complexity of the first time play.   whenever i bring this up on various forums, the die hard EvE fans get all up in arms and basically accuse me and anyone else who thinks such to be a stupid troll.

i like the idea of EVE, but it's too support by a community of people who think figuring out a needlessly complicated UI is the supreme mark of intelligence, and somehow a worthwhile preventative measure against "dumb" players running amok in their paradise.

it's an awful shame that, what i more or less assume, is the best MMO in history has to be so blind to this.

What they need to do is make a better frigan tutorial so more people can get into the game and understand it.

OMG I know. Whats with that? Obviously the more people who can understand a game and have fun playing it the better the community is going to be. Its almost like Eve players are happy that some people cant get into it because its so inaccesible.

Accesibility is probably one of the biggest new "mmo standards" that needs to be implemented in new games.

This is your problem in green. I think you're used to themeparks, with end game and raids and tiered gear progression. Unfortunately for you EVE is a sandbox not a themepark. The whole design philosophy of the game is opposite to the ones you've been playing.

EVE revolves around player generated content, not quests. Without wanting to sound harsh, it's just not your type of game and it's not going to change. CCP has a very well defined vision of the kind of MMO they want to deliver. Sandbox, player driven content, open PvP, skill based etc.

I can understand your desire for it to be more like games you're used to but to think it will change in that direction is just wishfull thinking. If you're unhappy with the way EVE plays I can only suggest that you move on and find something more suited to your taste. I'm not saying this to be nasty or a troll but to save you the frustration you're going to face if you stick with it. EVE is definately not for everyone, it's targetted at a very specific type of MMO player, ones that share CCP's ideas on how a sandbox MMO should be.

6.5/10 not bad, you pressed the right buttons, but it's lacking in emotion, which made it just too obvious. Points added because you got a couple of bites even so.

EVE is just fine as it is. If it would be catering towards mainstream, it would probably be dead by now.

The biggest thing with Eve to change your mindset completely from other games. There is no "end game" and progression means completely different things to different people. Once you accept those two points, the rest of the game comes surprisingly naturally. Also, I don't know that there is really much the devs could do to make the game that much more inviting without completely changing the design; maybe fix the tutorial, that would be about it. It's a game defined, for better or for worse, by the players' day to day actions, not the dev's relatively light touch.

Anywho, I don't know what you guys are talking about Im just trying to enjoy an MMO. Isnt that what they are for? Enjoyment? If Eve can start bringing in money like WoW, think about all those people having fun then.

I dont want to toot my own horn or anything but I kinda feel like the Jesus of MMOs. Im just trying to bring the light of MMO Standards Missionary to the rest of the world and you Romans are jumping down my throat like Im a ni-je-fa,like im a second class citizen.

Except anything you said won't make EVE reaching WoW numbers as it did not make any other game and EVE as it is is making more money than any WoW clones which makes your point entirely moot...
