Earth & Beyond - Any chance for a re-start ?

I just wonder if EA plans to re-start the fantastic, amazing and best of the best MMORPG "Earth & Beyond".

As you may see, i am still crazy about this game. ATM i am sitting in front of the login screen since the day EA shut down the servers to move dev+staff to the "so called" MMORPG "Sims Online", which we all know, is a flop.

Nearly every week i check all mayor "Earth & Beyond" Fansites to find out if there are any news about restart of service or maybe a "server emulator" to get this amazing game running again 24/7.

So if you are a former Westwood Programmer and you are low on cash you know where you can sell your source of EnB to ::::23::::::23::::::23::

If any petition only could reach someone at EA....

I never got into EnB, which is odd considering that the one thing I really want to play is a good Space-themed MMO.  (One that isn't click and point, ala EvE.)  I want one that I can use a Joystick on... like how JumpGate was when it was still "alive."  Anyway, I have read many a post (on various websites) that basicly say the same thing that you do.  You want EnB back...badly.  Trust me, everyone who played EnB wants it back.  But, I don't think it is going to happen for the following reasons:

First, what can you expect from a "sports" video game company...they couldn't care less about sci-fi fans if they tried.

Secondly, as you mentioned they have already pulled everyone off the EnB project to stick them on other projects, including the mega-P.O.S. (that's "piece of shit") Sims Online.  That leaves but one option left for the faithful...

Why don't they sell the rights of the game to a 3rd party company, who in turn runs the game independant of EA games?  Sounds like a great idea, I agree.  Well, to put it simply, EnB's very code contains "secrets" of how EA operates their online games.  Selling the game to a 3rd party would reveal those protcols.  This is not a wise move for a gaming company, especially since they have other projects that use the same net code to send data from your PC to the server and back.

Why the hell did they ditch a completely great game?  I don't know.  When will it come back online?  Prolly never.  It's sad, and belive me, I feel for you.  Hopefully, some kind developer will understand that there are those of us out there that would gladly pay good money for a killer space-themed online game...
