First up is a G4tv vid. About 5min is dedicated to a minor walkthrough and lore breakdown of the new raid called Infernal Dawn(that thing I datamined images of months ago).

 

Some of our favorite Rift critics might like the 5min mark. Patch 1.8 is introducing Fishing, Trapping, and Survivalism:

   .Fishing: Go play WoW or any other game. Minor difference is I do not remember fishing up crafting ingredients in WoW, but this could be a bad memory.

 

    .Trapping: You know all those cute companions you get from god knows how much wierd and odd methods. Well imagine going out into the world and throwing a net(poke ball) and catching it.

 

    .Survivalism: This sounds odd to say the least. Basically it is like bandages in WoW, but they throw in this tent idea!?!? Maybe like Final Fantasy 2 tents?!? Could be more rp then usefull, but who knows.

Earth Wing:

He is described as a boss who is trying to view the future. Basically the earth cult is trying to figure what to do after Maelforge is released and wtfpwns the world.



3. Defeat Ruslia Dreadblade

This might go down as one of the more badass fights in the instance from the description. They describe it as similar to Davy Jones controlling his ship in Pirates of the Carribean. Think the ship attacking you and have to use cannons. So definitely not your typical tank and spank.

From all the details we see this seems like a multi phase fight where the boss evolves in front of you. Think evil pokemon that ends in a Dragon the size of sanctum.



7. Destroy Maelforge's Eggs

^ The running assumption here from Rift players is after you defeat these the guy below gets super pissed and comes after you.

As far as I know the Maelforge room in the image I datamined is a circular stairway that leads up to a platform. They say heavy use of enviromental effects and say they had just started in Akylios. In Akylios they use waves, breathe, and water spouts along with mind control.

 

So assume Dragon 101 applies here. Cleave/tail swipe are a given. He has wings so assume a flying phase along with a crap ton of fire damage.
