Are there any good gameplay videos you would recommend?

Unfortunately, Youtube videos have been going up for this game for a year and a half and the early videos are of course... terrible gamplay but much of what I could find in later videos is just people talking and talking and talking or watching them run around cities like chickens with their will to live cut off.
Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug.
12 Million People have been meter spammed in heroics.

I'm not really a youtube/livestream guy. But there are several livestreams for FFXIV you can look for, or you can google Good King Moggle Mog XII fights to get an idea of what combat is currently like (1.20).
1.21 is coming out in about a week though and that will again change combat somewhat by introducing the jobs along with new abilities that will greatly improve party play.
In this short video of the end of the Moogle fight you can see a few things about gameplay such as Combos (position based combo's allowing you to chain together weapon skills for additional effects and no TP cost), debuffs, and the new(ish) action bar.
