Why do you keep "hoping" that GW2 will offer choice and be better at making more options available than GW1 when you know it's the case? You seem to keep implying a potential issue with the game that just does not exist.

I haven't seen all armours of all classes, I'm particulary interested in elementalist armours. But yes, it's a nice thing that we can do those things, although it's probably an item shop thing.

Actually no, it isn't just an item shop thing. It's actually been shown that players can buy the "Transmutation Stones" in-game, using the Karma they gain through Dynamic Events. Also even the Korean demo build, on the character creator, showed a variety of different types of Armour. Some revealing, some not. Those are all mid-level armour.

I never understood this false outrage “on behalf of women”, but I finally get it. It’s mostly about men who are outraged and disturbed that many women want to be able to look sexy in game.
It’s not about supporting women and protecting them from being “objectified”, it’s about trying to control and contain the power and beauty of the female form and to denigrate the female embrace of “sexy” fashion.
Do you suppose that IRL fashion is male society forcing sexy and frilly fashion on helpless women?
Face it. Some guys (and some women) are just uncomfortable with the fact that many women can openly embrace a sensual appearance and fashion sense, with out feeling that it some how cheapens them as a person. Smart and capable are not the antithesis of attractive and sexy.
Stop trying to make women feel guilty for wanting to have sexy characters, or being ok with the fact that many men like sexy female characters.
You aren’t defending women gamers against the oppression of immature game developers catering to teenage boys; you are trying to repress the expression and acceptance of feminine sensuality by female gamers. This is much more about trying to make women gamers feel guilty for their acceptance or embrace of such fashions than a caution to male gamers about the dangers of objectifying women!

This is so wonderful. Thank you for saying this.

As for this strength argument, it has been repeatedly shown in many, many studies and should not be basic common knowledge. Women are not as strong as men. A man and a woman who work out the same and are at the same ratio of fitness will still have the man being physically stronger. Women are also shown to be more agile and dexterous, as an average. There are obviously exceptions, but typically this is the case. It is not sexism, it is reality.

Trying to pretend we are all equal instead of embracing our differences only perpetuates things like sexism and racism.

Of course, as the heroes of the world, should we not be those exceptions? If I am a woman running around in plate armour all the time, I am going to be well above-average with regard to strength and endurance. So I don't think implementing these ideas into a game is usually a good idea. If done well, and equitably, it might work in some games, but not most, I imagine. It is a game after all.

"Gamers will no longer buy the argument that every MMO requires a subscription fee to offset server and bandwidth costs. It's not true — you know it, and they know it." —Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet, 2007

    WTF? No subscription fee?

Really all the game needs is enough armour options to satisfy both sides. The ones that like to show a bit of flesh and the ones that want to cover up and I think ArenaNet have already said they are doing that... we just haven't seen it yet.

I wouldn't say it's a purely male-oriented gripe--but it is a common one, because amateur art critic is without a doubt the easiest job ever creatred.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

Well... I think they wear that sexy armor so they can SEDUCE their opponents to kill them last, because hey they look good, so why kill them xD.

That atleast would be an okay idea, maybe not agianst other female players, but if a human male came towards one of these, he properbly would go, "oh my" and there you have it, the armor STUNNED the player for a few sec so she could blast him with a deadly fire bolt xD.

(I don't know if any of you knows, but if  incounter a "male" character with a female good looking character, and dosn't attack, they usally dosn't go for you as the first xD just saying. (sorry to all the people i offended with this :3!)
