that much more incredibly ironic doesnt it...

People come here and whine about IGE etc and the supposed effect its having on MMO's...

Blizzard could stop this anytime they want... but they dont...... one email to Ebay and those auctions would be shutdown. 1 employe for 30 minutes per day and it would game over for gold sellers and famers.....

Makes you wonder doesnt it... ?

Well the problem is that apparently it is legal to buy and sell game items online, otherwise IGE would get sued for it, insted its profit are getting bigger and bigger while the MMOs companies just watch.................although they talk a lot.............
But as any expert player would say............they talk Vaporware........image

To answer your question, yes you can get banned. Will you actually get banned, NO.

They cannot really prove that you bought or sold in game money. The main reason being that no transaction actually went on in-game. So someone gave you 120k of money in game, who is to say they are not your friend who is quitting the game, the chara that gave you the money will be deleted as soon as you have the money anyways. And the company that sold you the money does not want to get sued, so they're not gonna tell on you. It would just be too hard to prove.

Also I wouldn't be suprised if the creators of games were not in on the money selling. Think about it, they create the game, can give their characters any items, amount of money they want to, they probably either are IGE, or have some deal going with IGE. This is probably not true, but would not be a big suprise if it was. Anything that will earn someone some cash they will usually do. And besides there would be nothing really morally or ethically wrong with it. Just a thought though.
