For me personally I'll be gone before the 30 days.

Just felt like posting a poll without 2 sides one going im quitting right now and other side telling us how great it is.

Wanted to see actual numbers.

Comment below if you feel the poll is unfair or just feel like ranting since this isnt going anywhere.

Accidenty clicked enter so it posted without the last 3 choices

1 year

As long as it exists

I already quit

If anyone knows how to remove or edit a poll that would be great.

How do I know? I will play it as long as the content is fun.

I entered Lineage 2 expecting to only play it a week at most and I lasted over 4 years.

I'll just vote six months and give you a "we'll see".

Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

No clue really at this point. Really depends on what is available come end game and what BW does content update wise. Too soon to tell for me.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Agreed. I picked 6 months as nothing on the horizon besides FFXiV Version 2 really interest me at this point and that won't be til about August. But like he said, I'll pay as long as I'm having fun. I surely didn't think I'd play WoW for 7 years.

Consecutively, I'll likely unsub next month.  Over the course of the games lifetime, I'll likely sub for about a year total... maybe more.

  • DredphyreDredphyre Member Posts: 601

I didn't vote because I'll likely play this game the same way I play other MMOs...play for a few weeks (or month), then switch to a different MMO...play that for a few months...switch.

I return to EVE about twice a year for a month just to get my space fix (been doing this since Earth and Beyond closed down). I don't stick around though 'cause it bores me to tears after awhile.

I play LOTRO off and on...maybe a few times a month. I play DDO a couple times a year.  And sometimes I even fire up my subscription to WWII Online to get my PvP fix.

So yeah...I see myself playing TOR in a like manner. Play it for a few hours this week. Next week I'll delve into Minecraft again, maybe a little Skyrim.  Come back to TOR -- maybe step over to LOTRO at some point.

    You get the idea.

I am having a pretty good time now. Of course, it does help to have several RL friends playing with me. How long will I sub? That really depends on updates, bug fixes, and future plans from Bioware.

  • sudosudo Member UncommonPosts: 697

I will keep playing until one of these two happens:

I finish smuggler and trooper personal stories.

    Guild Wars 2 is released.

Until I get bored.  I usually run multiple paid subscriptions to different MMO's along with the F2P ones.

  • GrayGhost79GrayGhost79 Member UncommonPosts: 4,775

More than likely until GW2 launches. SWTOR isn't to bad but it isn't exactly what I'm looking for. It's the first themepark I'm willing to stick with for any significant amount of time if that means anything :P

    2 months

long enough to level a 50 on each side, the leveling is quite good

I have no interest in WOW style end game, I hate Raiding with a passion and tupperware PVP gets boring fast

If they fix Illum I may stay another 2 months, but after that TSW is out which promises to do the Illum thing better - 3 sides, multiple PVP "planets", faction wide bonus etc..  Also looks to have end game PVE i will actually like with the sabotage and investigation mission, the invasion events etc..

If they would just fix a few key things I would have no problem playing this game until some distant titles come to fruition.

But as of right now? I'm mad I bought it

    For a long, long time.

There is about 140 hours of content to get your character to max level. That's about 46 days if you average 3 hours a day. Since I play 3 or 4 days a week that's about 15 weeks worth of play time. So 3 months, maybe 4.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Until I get my Imperial Agent, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter and maybe Sith Warrior and Smuggler to level 50 and have completed their class stories. If Bioware has added more to the class stories by then then I will continue to play. If not...since crafting isn't important then I'll have to evaluate the situation (which most likely means stop subscribing).

I salute you, as I fled from L2 at about level 40 from the grind. Loved my Orc Monk though.

To the OP; I will play TOR until I feel the grind. probably 6 months of casual play for me.

How long is a week ago?  I quit about a week ago.  After hitting 50 and getting Hard Modes on farm already.

    Hmm-Hmm im sure you did...

BTW is there somethign wrong with you? You posted this http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/4566994#4566994 on November, bashing the game, the classes and the balance and then you went and actually bought the game??? After saying that you were expecting GW2, implying that you had given up of SWTor.

And canceled last week you say? After getting to 50 and farming all the hard modes...

How very interesting... Come closer... and tell me more.

As of right now I'll say 3 months. That could very well change, due to a number of factors, but 2-3 months is probably my limit. I'm already playing less and less.

  • KrayfishKrayfish Member UncommonPosts: 147

I stopped playing just under a week ago now, just isn't the game for me. Won't go in to the reasons as I'm sure people will flame me if I do but I have my reasons. Not the worst game I've played in mmo terms by any stretch but it's certainly not something I'm willing to sub to either.

I'm looking towards archeage now, but I have a feeling I'm gonna have another 3 year wait with that one. I will of course pick up GW2 but I am not overly hyped for it.

3 months if nothing new is added, depending on how much is/ what is added it could be years.

  • niteflynitefly Member Posts: 340

I already stopped. Forced myself to play to level 20 and then gave up.

I chose the 1 month option in your poll.

I'm not going to bash the game or anything, it just disappointed me personally and never really caught my interest since it felt slow and unengaging to me.

Already subbed 9 months through timecards.

Because I was on holiday I played non-stop for three weeks and got a Juggernaut PVE tank spec to level 50. Will do endgame stuff with him with my guild, albeit on a casual basis.

I love the class stories and intend to have the Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter, a jedi and a smuggler to level 50 within those 9 months because I am now on casual play mode having returned to work today and I work seven days a week.

What I want to see in those 9 months is an improvement to pvp. I tried but I still dislike Huttball intensely  even though I understand it reduces queuing as it is non-faction based. I want more warzones (3 is not enough) and I want the choice to queue for the ones I like. I seriously hate Huttball, serioulsy loathe and detest the Huttball voice-overs and it doesn't feel like Star Wars and yet with no warzone choice it procs 99% of the time and a little bit of me dies every time I see Huttball proccing. If they don't add more warzones and if they don't give me the choice to queue for the warzones I like then I definitely will not play beyond those 9 months.

I can afford two mmorpgs financially so I will also try any sandboxes that get released without this affecting my sub to SWTOR.

    Regards
