Locked account

Sooo, SWTOR didn't recognize my security question, and has locked me out of my account.

Does anyone know how long this lasts, or if I need customer service to unlock it?

Groovy.

If its EA support, you are screwed my friend.

Considering its new though, doubt many will really know. Considering its just release, chances are it might be a bit difficult to get through for it fixed quickly.

    That doesn't help.

    Call the 1800 #

Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.

This really. It might have a wait, I'm sure a lot of people at once might be having different issues. Calling will be your best bet for  a quick response.

If its basically the message of, you failed to verify your account afte several attempts, I do believe you're locked out for about 2hrs before it'll allow you to try again.  If you did forget your security questions already, then the only way to find out what they are and have them changed is to contact Customer Support, so better get on the horn and hope for the best ~ sadly though, I've heard nothing but horror stories when trying to deal with EA...

{they have your money already, so why should they care...} is what appears to be the case with them.  You'd think EA and others would understand that if ya want more money from us, you gotta be nice and help in a prompt manner.

    Anyway...good luck!

Lovely...now I'm locked out of my account too!

And after having a rather enjoyable time last night with a few nice people doing elite quests, I decided to stop by Best Buy today and purchase SW:TOR.  So I got home, and started to log in for a session and reconfirm one last time that I wanted to play.   I was hit with a security question, because it said I'd never logged into SWTOR from this PC location before....very odd considering I've never logged into my account from anywhere else, plus I've done so for the past 5mo during closed/weekend beta.

Thus I put my answer in and no go, so I tried again with/without caps and 2 other variations in case I somehow had it wrong, and I'm pretty damn sure I don't cause I have them written down next to my PC. After 4-5 attempts I got hit with the locked out of my account for an indeterminate amount of time and a message saying I should contact CS.

I sent in an email, even though I know it'd take days to get a response, so I also called their #. It seriously took me about 30+ attempts to even get connected to their holding line. Kept saying it was too busy to keep me on the line. Finally got in and for the next 5hrs I sat there listening to the same SW audio file, and "we're sorry but due to an unexpected volume" ~ {yeah unexpected is a bad line to use} ~ "of calls, we're unable to help you at this time, but please stay on the line and we'll help you shortly". Again I heard this line uttered every min for 5hrs or so...

I finally gave up, canceled the call, and just returned from Best Buy with my $65 back in my account...so Fuck You Bioware!!!

Anyway, for those of you still planning on playing, anyone interested in a Security Token? I ordered one, and it has yet to arrive, but I'll sell it too ya for $5.50 when it does. Total cost was $6.78 with tax and shipping, so I'll let it go for $5 with $0.50 for the stamp.   Lemme know...

That security crap IS beyond ridculous. It's bad enough I have to do it for my college loans and now its spreading to video games. I was also locked out last week because I couldn't remember the EXACT case sensitive answers to the security questions I picked a month before. As if remembering a username and password wasn't enough, now it's the answers to any one of five questions. Luckily, they sent me an email with the ability to change my password and security answers a couple days after locking me out. This time I wrote EVERTHING DOWN ALONG WITH THE EXACT WAY I WROTE IT. IMO this is a ridiculous ritual to go thru just to play a game.

    Currently Playing: World of Warcraft

Why do people have such a hard time remembering security questions?

Frequently, companies that employ them will allow the answers to all questions to be the same.

Just create a second password and set the questions answers all the same as the second password if you cant remember actual facts about your life. Or develop a standard rule to guide yourself on how to answer them.

They will reply to email in around 3 days you have to send them your id digitally

  • TrillistarTrillistar Member UncommonPosts: 14

If you simply put the wrong answer in, reset your password and you can try again 5 more times.

If its like mine and many others and your questions actually changed, then you have to get through to customer service. I have a 17 hour recording to demonstrate how useless that is.

I asked Origin to reverse the charges on the unavailable product they were charging me for and was told that they couldn't refund due to a physical component of the Digital Deluxe...... umm...right...Filed with my bank to reverse on a failure to deliver.

Great game too much bs to be worth it. This release is the biggest mess I have ever seen going right back to announcement of preorders. And in 35 years of gaming and programmign I have seen a lot of messes.

I expected a high queue, but its ridiculous that I had this BS happen, when everything has been fine for the past 5mos, then as soon as I decided that I wanted to play and buy the game, this befalls me.  Seriously, its just dumb...

Why come launch day does my account suddenly say I've never logged into a place I have done so probably 200 times prior, and never from anywhere else!  Did my account get hacked while I was sleeping today?  Why is my security answer suddenly not working?  Never during the launch of any MMO had I ever had this much BS in one fell swoop!

    ArenaNET, I am now fully committed to waiting on GW2 now, please don't let me down!    So fuck you EA and fuck you Bioware {except I would like to finish the Mass Effect trilogy, so I'll still get part III in March...LOL, but that'll be it from them...}

Personal experience shows the customer service number hasn't been answering since the 13th, forum posts show it going back at least a month further. That will teach me to trust a previously reputable company without researching current developments.

I don't...not only are they each one simple word, but I also have them written down on my gaming notepad right next to me.  I had to use them before and they worked prior, so why not now?

Is too late though, I was having doubts of keeping interest longer than a few weeks/month anyway, so it just saves me $65 to spend on D3 which is probably the next big release soon...

Definately not the case with swtor, they insist on a different answer for each. The issue with the questions changing to something other than chosen has been an issue since beta, supposedly fixed.
