Where to start with DAoC

So I am looking at a few old and not so old MMO's to play and I have downloaded the 14 day trial for DAoC. What I wondering is what is the best way to go if I like the game. Can you get the full game and all supplements anywhere or if you subscribe do you get everything for free anyway?
Any advice is much appreciated.

From what I understood you basically just pay after the trial to unlock all of the content. I'm not positive, but when I did the trial that's what I got from people.
You can do everything on the trail you can do on a paid account. There is no unlocking anything.
