IT'S A DAMN PREVIEW! DON'T SAY IT'S A REVIEW! SWTOR hasn't been released, so quit posting links and saying they're reviews - they're NOT! Previews - that's all it is - pre: meaning before; i.e. before release.
I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.
I began frustrated, and wanting to get to the action rather than sit here watching cutscene after cutscene, but after a while, I suddenly realized – this MMO is a single player game that you can play with lots of people. The story is the whole point of playing. The cutscenes became less annoying after that hit me, so while I can recommend this game wholeheartedly, I do have to say that you should skip this game if you don’t want story. If you want the kind of game that I normally look for – more sandbox than themepark, with challenging gameplay – and if you don’t want story and cutscenes interrupting your play, you’re better off giving this game a pass.
See this right here just drives me into a rage. If I want a single player game why in the hell am I even playing an MMO? This single playing bullshit in todays MMO's must stop! What is wrong with people nowdays anyways? Is the entireMMO community such people haters thereafraid to socialize and work together at all? Prob not even nessassary to groupmuch anyways with the current direction these crap MMO's have been going of late. This is why I am about ready to stop playing MMO's completly as I don't know how much more of this shitI can take!
You should try testing the game. It encourages you to group up just like every other MMO out there. As for you not liking cutscenes or storylines, fine, that's your call, but please stop bitching to the rest of us who do. Go play a sandbox MMO and stop bothering us.

Which sandbox mmo would that be? The one with triple A production values? No? The one with a good story line? No? Do they at least have smoothly animated graphics? No? Well then.
There is literally nothing better for a sandbox mmorpg player to do than hang around on these forums and hate on people who actually have (or will have) something better to do.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Not a single one of those links is a premier reviewing site. Go to the real game review sites and see what they are saying Mr. Michael Moore.
See what I did thar...
One could argue that premiere reviewing sites are actually the most probable to be "bribed", as someone said before, whereas the minor ones are basically normal people that get to write on a small website and likely have no reason to tell you that this rocks or this sucks other than their very opinion.
You sir are an idiot for thinking these bigger sites get bribed.......

They don't get bribed as such. However, there was a high profile site that fired one of their reviewers immediately following a poor review of a game that was being advertised on the site. Several other reviewers quit as a response and they went and started their own site.
This in and of itself doesn't mean anything other than somebody got fired. However, it raises the idea and possibility that review sites in general will not give a poor review of a game that is advertised on their site. It also alludes to the possibility that advertisers will not advertise on sites that they think will give them poor reviews. It is not impossible (it's even likely) that before advertising on a website, the advertiser would require that the site either not review their product or that they would guarantee a good review.
There is no oversight in the review business. We have to rely on the honesty of businesses. It seems more likely that they would err on the side of making money rather than the side of being honest, when those two things are in conflict.
It casts doubt on good reviews and makes poor reviews seem more 'honest'. Though if the idea that review sites are dishonest is true, it is just as likely that advertisers would require poor reviews of competing products as well as good reviews of their own products, making reviews in general worthless.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
So (not countering anyone) if pro-sites preview it as positive and less known sites preview it as positive and regular gamers preview it as positive, can we then get a good feeling that the game may be worth a try? or should we doubt them all and just get a key.
I"m for the latter, just forget the reviews if you don't trust them so much, grab a dang key, play it for yourself. Much easier that way.
But if you are going to look at sites for an idea then i think you should take all category (pro, minor, player) get a general feel then go from there. But if you ever get the chance to try the game for yourself, go for it, by all means. Only way to be sure save for nuking everything from orbit
Pre-views and reviews are best taken as a whole IMO and not sperately as a negative review (as stated above) can be paid or not paid off as easily by another company as it is for a company to pay a site off to give a positive review.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Quoted for truth.
Play the beta. Although if you havent played the ebta yet one word of warning. SWTOR will suck you into solo play. But its a good thing as long as you realize what group content is in the game should you want to deviate from the solo game.
Last beta I played i went he entire weekend, then my last hour I realized that I din't group once. i didn;t group because I did not want to or because it was not available, it was because I was having so much fun other wise. This beta I will make it a priority to group.

Or you could play it like an MMO and play with people instead of playing as a single player just because you CAN. Don't blame the game for your own unwillingness to play with other people simply because you don't have to.
Wow... You have completely misread and/or misinterpreted their post.
They quoted a passage from one of the reviews talking about how it's basically a single-player game with other people, at least in the context of being very story-heavy.
They then go on to voice aggravation at how MMOs are becoming more and more single-player experiences.
They don't *want* to play solo all the time. They *want* to group up with other players. That's the entire point of their post, which you somehow completely missed.
An appropriate response would have been, "They're only talking about the solo storyline content. There's also heroic content that has to be completed in a group. So you don't have to play solo all the time if you don't want to".
Your post is a great example, though, of how people on this site completely mis-read or misinterpret others posts - or even read the first few sentences and immediately assume they know what the rest of it says... and then respond accordingly, ripping the person's head off over their own comprehension error.

I think you're misunderstanding his point.
ALL of the content is group content. Every quest can be completed in a group. EVERY conversation in the game can accomodate a multiplayer conversation. They are all set up to allow multiple people.
I have found questing in this game to be much more enjoyable and faster when grouping. The multiplayer conversations add a lot to your normal questing experience.
On top of that, there are plenty of systems in the game to encourage grouping and make it more streamlined. For example, when you turn in or pick up a quest in a party the other players have the option to join the conversation when you talk to the NPC from anywhere with their holocommunicator. This makes turning in and picking up the next quest WAY easier in a group setting (unlike any other mmo). You don't have to sit there and wait around for every player to get to town, finish shopping, etc. You just turn in the quest and it turns it in for everyon and they get to participate in the conversation.
Playing solo while questing in this game is the fault of the player not the game. It is a choice and the game fully accommodates those that want to play with others, while also providing several systems (like the one I just mentioned) to streamline the group process and make everything go smoothly.
The lies and misinformation about this game being mainly a single player game are flat out wrong. If the people who wrote the review play it solo that is their own damn fault.
