Huh... Some Googling turned up Dark & Light 2. I'd heard of the first one, but never paid it much mind. Graphically at least, ver. 2 is looking stellar.

That works too... the Jar Jar Ton Ton.

So just because the game doesn't perfectly emulate real life that's a bad thing? I'm glad they're deciding to add their own flavor. I love the art style and animations... everything looks so smooth, fluid, and "real".

Unfortunately...you still have to look at it, regardless of how well it is animated.

It's in the game.  Somebody will have it.  You will see it.

The horses are the best I've seen in any MMO.  I used to ride a lot so it really bothers me when a game's horses look, or even worse, move like no real horse ever would.  The ships and carriage and gliders are going to make steampunk fans incredibly happy.  The Neverending Jar Jar is goofy but not as immersion breaking, imo, as a certain game's cash shop sparkle pony.

And of course the game world looks fantastic.

I'd love to give this game a try when and if it releases here, but not if pvpers will be allowed to overrun and ruin it.  No pretty graphics or neat travel options can make up for being corpse camped by a bored 12 year old when all I wanted to do that day was log in and craft or build for a few hours.

I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

Jar Jar looks better in AA then in SW :P

Actualy think its a great mount for that game and it has a very western flavor to it (as in region ) its all about colors and how anime things look, AA is goign whit semi-realism and not so bright color palets not often seen in asian style games but a trademark of pre-2005 western games. (afther 2005/06 western games became cartoon network/disney like)

The Panda from wow is more Anime then this Jar Jar look alike mount so I doubt they got to fear about not fitting in the western market.

If western devs learn anything from eastern devs, it's to stop making ugly MMO's. My only beef with eastern MMO's is their fascination with 12 year old girls in short skirts. Their art style is so far and above western, it's pretty much a joke. Hurray for GW2 i suppose for breaking that stigma.

OP,we have this in the West too, just check Rift mounts :p Anyway it's not gamebreaking or immersion breaking for me.

Rift mounts... VG mounts... Western games have the most fugly mounts lol.

I liked the 'jarjar' personally, I thought it was a lot of fun, and animated superbly.

This thread is pointless though... all we can do is state opinions on what art we like or don't like and that rarely goes anywhere. The bottom line i that if you don't like thr way the game looks, well... I'm sorry.

That is the majority of threads on the forums.  It drives views and possible clicks of advertising.

It is generally fine when somebody asks for opinions on something, the issues tend to arise when folks start telling each other that their opinions are wrong - or - folks state their opinions are superior.  Then a thread becomes "hot"...

The detail in the animations of that mount are amazing and among the best ive ever seen.

  • kzaskekzaske Member UncommonPosts: 518

The game looks very very good, I see no real problems with the mount.  OK, it is far better done than most mounts I have seen in other games.  At one point in the video I would almost swear I saw it panting from the run.  There were a couple of gotchas but nothing serious.

Guild Wars 2 looks to have a challanger.  My only regret is that it is Pay to Play...  Which sucks.

From those screenshots you can tell it's not a chinese themed game , so you kinda missed the point...

Rift mounts are way up their with this mount,i mean that freaking horse zebra type mount looks pathetic but it's not game breaking.

As for Vanguard well IMO it has the best mounts of any MMO to date.

Camels-Horses and many many more inluding great flying mounts.

Just look at the racial mounts of Vanguard which is not all mounts in the game.

    Wow...just gotta say wow...

Firstly, way to go on hijacking a thread which you want to defend to the death. Seriously, how is posting info on some random chinese game helping your cause?

Secondly, dont know if you were so busy copy pasting images without even knowing / realizing that this game is Dark and Light, ie the biggest public failure of a MMO in the history of MMOs. How big a failure you ask? Big enough that the developers got sued for stealing software and they lost on the defense and had to pay damages. They tried to cover their ass and brought charges on that plaintiff and lost even that suit.

These guys are THAT big of a failure. And you want to use them as an example of how stellar chinese games are? Hilarious.

You might wanna do some research before jumping down the throats of anyone who doesnt share your blind zealousness on the matter at hand, son. Farlan / NPCube were* the laughing stock of the MMO industry and using them to make a point in your favour is so very pathetic.

Also that game wasnt made in china(tm). It wasnt developed in china, but is getting hosted by a chinese gaming company since after the previous lawsuit debacle its believed that the remaining NPCube / Farlan team ran away to china to dodge the charges and no other reputable company would host or harbour these crooks other than the chinese publisher you want to commend.

*were - the spot for the current worst dev / dev team ever is a matter of speculation since Dr. SMRT and Starvault are just as worthless as NPCube were depending on whom you ask

@Topic, Did not like that mount. Looks like they are trying too hard to make things stick out from the rest IMO, that mentality doesnt always work as intended.

The Chinese are very well known to make knockoff's of western products,  especially on the hardware side of things http://www.ranker.com/list/the-most-shameless-video-game-console-knockoffs/benjamin-dunn .  Does the mount look like jar-jar ?  yes it does and i'm not really suprised.    Even with that aside the animations look very good, if i ever do play the game i probably would not use that mount.  I prefer more traditional mounts like war horses.
