    [Mod Edit]

I don't know if anyone else sees this Crystal Saga ad... it's sanctioned by mmorpg.com, because it's the actual background of the website; it shows a 10 year old girl wearing very inappropriate clothing, and in a position indicating she is ready to be ______ (including her facial expression) .I think this is pretty pathetic, and none of the replies are relevant, considering it's obviously a prepubescent child.

I find that pretty much every free to play Asian mmorpg ad is borderline child-p-rnography.

My own edit: I cannot believe my posts are being edited the way they are, and so quickly... I'm not using bad language or anything; and your advertisement is what is offensive. Do not alter my words; I'd rather you just delete my message and send me an email or something than change my words and make me look stupid.

Perhaps you should quit and get a new job in some porn or sex-worker related industry.  Then viewing it at your desk might get you a big fat promotion.

The girl in the Crystal Saga ad looks at least 19 to me. She is standing in a semi sexual position, although I would not have noticed she was standing in a provocative way if it weren't for this thread that drew attention to it. I guess I just don't go out of my way to interpret cartoons in ways that looks like hot toddies.

That, or your just seeing what you want to see.

At least they could openly address the concern.

    Hi guys,

After reviewing the situation we honestly don't feel that the ads we're featuring on the site are worse than anything shown on TV, magazines, or other websites. With that said, we expect that advertisements on the site will be a little less 'risque' in the coming weeks.

    Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Oh man what a sensitive bunch we have here. Am I the only one that finds this stuff tame compared to oh say a torrent website? Heaven forbid if the little kids that want to have Justin Beber's baby actually sees a little boobage.

These images are somewhat appropriate for the subject advertised. Would I want to display them on my work computer? No. What would I do? Not come to this site while I am at work. It's called self discipline.

Well, I can't imagine people having as much a use for a torrent website AT WORK. Like the OP states.

I'm not personally offended by this prebuscent sex object advertising on asian video games... I just think it's kind of pathetic. Picturing a creepy grown man, sitting in a dark room, drawing these pictures gives me a facial expression similar to o.O

I think it's funny that I can have my post completely butchered by a mod, just for describing a picture on this website, though. If the verbal description of a picture is too explicit.... surely the picture itself is...

This is the picture I'm referring to. I don't know about y'all, but it totally screams action adventure to me. Clearly she's some kind of anus priest that shoots holy light from her tail end; and the act of doing so must give her some kind of tingling sensation, which explains her flushed facial expression.

This is what people can't seem to understand.  Boobs are awesome, right?  I frickin' love porn.   But not at work.

I like to check out my gaming sites at lunch... but I can't visit this one at work.  I wish that weren't the case.  What, exactly, is so wrong with that?

IGN.com and Gamespot.com seem to manage without this kind of advertising...  Plenty of sites survive without it.  And those are the sites we go to at work, and those are the sites that end up getting more ad revenue because of it.

this is a great point, self control at work to actually be working and not browsing MMORPG.com or any other gaming site, even if its your break.

but on the other hand, being at home or at work/school etc. im am seing these japanese/korean MMO adds that well... just now i am seing the background of crystal saga depicting what looks to me a 9 year old (anime style) girl in very revealing "armor" or "mage/sage robes"

im fine with "risque" material as long as the people depicted are adults and not children, or at least dont make them look like preteens.

i remember the evony add that was placed there before, with ahm pleasantly displayed female (that clearely had nothing to do with the game) im ok with that, also thie Carsary add that says warning mature enough to play? i mean i get it sex sells, but again... no images of children wearing a micro armor bikini or  magerobes... that fail to cover the ass, pubic area and chest...

Yea, I think some of you people are missing the point.

It's not that there ARE boobs.  It's that sometimes we want to peruse stuff and not have to deal with the boobs.

    i.e. You're at work.

At home, when my kid is awake, I am consistently on sites that don't show that stuff.  If I have to stop coming here, well that's that.  I appreciate that they reviewed it.  That's all I'm asking.  If I wouldn't show it to my kid, it shouldn't be easily accessible.  Heck, some commercials nowadays make me wince if little ears happen to be paying attention.  I especially loved being asked by my kid what E. disfunction was.  Oh, that was a fun day you can be sure.

  • Ramonski7Ramonski7 Member UncommonPosts: 2,662
If you are doing anything at work besides working go ask you boss if it's ok to surf the web. If he says yes, I doubt any kids are around to protest. And of he says hell no, then welcome to the land of reality where he'd very well fire your ass for slacking off on the job. Or you can do as I do and use your own damn phone and not see a ad in the world.

It's kind of sad that it's easier on my eyes to just use my phone to browse the place.  That should be some red flags itself.

    Answer:

The cure to having to answer these types of questions.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

Or we have more self control? I dont need to see boobs 24/7 to be a man.

Self-control =/= shrieking at the sight of any form of sexual inuendo.

No one said anything about that either.  I would prefer to be able to browse this site while waiting for classes to start, or for those at work during downtime, without people thinking that we are on a hentai site.

And self control = being able to keep my desire for tits in check until I get home to my girlfriend.  Also, if boobs is what convinces someone to play a game then thats a lack of self control.

When that person could very well be one of the people that helps determine if I get into some of the more competitive programs at my university, or can reccomend me for a internship, or can help me get into grad school then yeah its kind of important.

Why are you arguing for these ads?  I dont understand how having the ads benefits you at all.  Is it that you enjoy having all the boobs everywhere?  I dont understand what the problem is in just getting different ads.

They're not my cup of tea but I had rather assumed I was the only one to find them distasteful, glad to see I'm not.

They don't particularly irritate me but as I say, not my cup of tea. The ad just rather screams at me, 'this game is likely a POS, avoid'.

The only thing that bothers me about some of the ads is that I'm creeping myself out over the chic in the crystal saga ad.

Why can't I stop looking at it!
