In related news Glen Bulsone of Cedar View Montana has announced he is giving away the contents of his septic tank to 10 "lucky" winners.

"No really" he said "there is no catch! I will even deliver it free of charge right on to your living room floor!"

Horizons is a good game with a really bad rep. If people would try it instead of just repeating stuff they hear from trolls what a wonderful world it would be. But its so easy to just keep slagging a game without even trying it. Ask yourself this: why am I here posting instead of playing all these supposedly wonderful games?

Cuz they are boring as hell aren't they? Try Horizons, I still haven't found a reason to go back to any of the games I own but can't bring myself to play (WoW, EQ2, SWG, FFXI, Guild Wars) I know its hard to give a game you have heard bad things about a chance and much easier to sit there and diss it and be a sheep, but give the trial an honest try, if you do you will like it. Or you can be a troll, it's up to you. BTW I'm at work, the only reason I frequent this site. Much rather be at home playing Horizons and Battlefield 2 image

Razorback your a smart guy and not a troll, post was not meant to point fingers at you, just so you know image

www.Istaria.com It's amazing just how good this game is with the reputation it has, one of the reasons I just had to try it.

TY DOZeR, no telling how many people besides me you have gotten to try itimage

You know for a guy that really hasn't played the game that long you sure put down the games most people play and have high pops and only talk great about a game that is clearly still in big trouble. This is what now the 5th contest in the last 5 months? That must tell people something.

Its all good Anarchy.... I was really making a joke more than trolling.... I know that there are still a few people playing it.

I agree it was a good game, I played for about 3 months and I only stopped because I moved house and didnt have a net connection at the new place for months after I got there. Then I kind of moved on to other things. Up till then I was basically enjoying it.

I was actually disapointed to see how badly it tanked considering it had a lot of positive aspects like the house construction.

Anyway.... Im not unhappy about the contest I would actually like to win and account and go back and see what its like now just out of curiosity. I certainly wouldnt knock the case back either... its a cool looking case.

Yall need to realise I am serious with little more than about 5% of what I post here lol image

If you haven't played in that long, you will be amazed how far it's come! It truly will be like playing a new game, one that I really love image Havne't played long, just long enough to know it's the only game I have tried in the last year that has soul image

Which is why even the players on community site is arguing about the game and all the unfinished stuff in it. Yeah lost soul.

    Give Horizons a Second Chance feature (DB interview) . . . .

MMORPG.com contest, likely sponsored in some way by Tulga Games . . . .

When is the intended review of the "new" Horizons by MMORPG.com scheduled?  August 1?

  • anarchyartanarchyart Member Posts: 5,378
Dunno, but I can tell you the game has got a LOT of possiblities. I wouldn't play if it sucked even half as bad as the trolls say. It's amazing how a game this good can get trashed so bad, but ignorance is bliss for some. Anyways I'm off to play Horizons image

    Dont forget to mention....

If you do win one of the game subscriptions you had better have a credit card. Without a CC number you wont be playing Horizons. Not even the "free" trial.

Horizons 'giveaway,' ?even if one wins do they still have to go out and buy a $37 CD to utalize the 1-3 ($13 to $39) subscription. Doesn't the game give you a free month anyway making the free 1 month subscription a bit off-center?
An empty case, like couldn't it at least include a gpu or some other "content" or is the lack of filler something to look forward to?
Didn't Horizons offer a free game Cd for people that played EaB, all they had to do was send in the account name and EaB Cd?

"Tomorrow’s Horizons Update contains a large number of improvements and additions that have been long anticipated by the players, as well as by us. This update is the culmination of three entire updates to Blight. In this Horizons Update, players will find a large list of new content and fixes, including a completely revamped Lesser Aradoth with both new terrain and new content, the second episode of the Ancient Rite of Passage, new monsters and new monster behavior, as well as continued improvement to the stability of the game client.

We had a great experience working with the community and listening to your feedback in preparing these changes and testing them on Blight and we are excited to finally bring this update to the Live Shards. However, because of the size of this update, we are expecting a longer downtime than our regularly scheduled maintenance. We appreciate your patience and we have high hopes that the players will find it well worth the wait. Thanks again for all the support and we are looking forward to bringing our players bigger and better Horizons Updates in the near future."

    Sincerely,
    -The Horizons Team-

Actually the reason i don't play the game has little to do with the game itself. I've always seen it as a game i could enjoy. The reason i don't play it is the story behind the game.

If they want my business they need to fire David Bowman and give the game back to the creator. Don't reward backstabbing thieves.

Bhug i have a question for you, why do the latest mmorpg games (who give a trial) always ask billing information? This takes the fun away for either ppl without a cc, or minus 18-ers... I know that alot of childs are avoided by doing this, but i've been playing mmorpgs since i was 10 years old (maybe even sooner) and the first beta i ever played was ragnarok online (open beta).
The point is, if you want to answer this question: Why do ppl ask billing information for free trial accounts? If you don't make the system by game cards than the 'childs' who join the game for 7 days will leave after their trial... Thereby avoiding a childish community like in WoW (and i've played wow, the community is horrible)

Kind Regards from an (unhappy) 14-year old teenager.

If Horizons was giving away a Nvidia 6800gt and a years worth of paid DSL, people would still come on here and complain they were desperate. They are trying to do something different. If you don't like the contest, don't enter.

"billing info" serves two purposes, it establishes a reference to identify the person to be billed for a subscription after the 'free trial period.'
And it helps prevent dead beats that keep over and over using the free trial period to keep playing the game for free. (eg. once the certain CC reference info is submitted, that person is tied to that certain time span free trial. Once that time period is over the person either pony-ups the subscription or moves on. No just making another free trial account and keep on playing.)
Also having valid CC info shows the person as financially responsable, capable of actually paying to play (ptp) the game the providers are selling. Free trial lets the user try out the game w/o actually paying $ for the retail CD. It is like open beta where many users get a chance to check out the game and interact with other users to guage if this is the game for them.

Horizons I tried back in beta, but I hear the population of this game is very low at the moment and I hope this game can start up some support because it really isn't THAT bad of a game, it is more of a population problem that the devs are looking at in which makes it hard for them to give proper updates, and or release expansions.

Horizons was a great concept originally. They were going to have factional warfare and everything. Then they removed PVP and it all started going downhill from there.

If the game is good now, happy for ya. But last I heard from a friend who played till less than a month ago was that it still sucked. He left, finally, for WOW because he got fed up with the game.
