TERA's Glyph system

Tera doesn't use a skill tree per say but what they do have is a Glyph skill base system. If you have played L2 you can say its like L2's Passive skills or trigger skills.

The Glyph system is made up of 300 different Glyphs. Glyphs enhance certain skills. When a character reaches lvl 25 they will receive 10 Glyph points that will allow the player to be able to equip their first Glyph. After that each lvl will grant the player 1 Glyph point.

Once a player buys a Glyph in one of the major cities, they can register that Glyph to them and mix and match different Glyphs. How many points you have determine how many Glyphs you can equip.

You can buy Glyphs at the Glyph vendor, though some may have lvl requirements. To reset your current Glyph set up, simply go back to the vendor and the vendor will reset the Glyphs for you for a price. This will make it so you can easily switch your Glyphs out for different PVE and PVP sets.

Glyph functionality can be determined by examining a glyph's color:

- Light blue glyphs are the most common. The effects are passive, constant and affects various skill functions such as cooldown time, cast time, range, mp cost, number of targets, etc.

- Red glyphs trigger on a chance basis. For example, a glyph might offer a 10% chance to double the damage output.

- Green glyphs are designed for chain skills. They do not affect the skill they are associated to, but the next skill in the chain.

- Dark blue glyphs are the rarest form of glyph.

You can easily create your own glyph builds, then copy and link it to your build and send it to your friends or discuss it with your guildmates.
