    Cheers!

This i can relate to something new something to grow with and experience new things with. The problem is people have almost a set chain they will start playing "OK right now its WoW, next i wil play skyrim, then i will play SWTOR GW2 archage, etc. etc." Sorry i may get bashed for this as i rightly should but I do not know enough about skyrim is it a console game correct? if so then the list is a lot more understandable.

What's toxic is the automatic assumption that the majority of encounters are with "toxic" people by default.

If you lean to seeing all other players as children, malcontents, troublemakers, or "toxic" in general, the problem just might be yours.

A love at first site if you will I mean hell you may divorce at some point but there has got to be a reason your going back to this site. Me?             What I am getting at is are you looking for the same thing I am? Is there that perfect game? Right now GW2 would be amazing but we are talking about right now. Right now i would love to be playing a game i enjoy a lot.

I have got disapiontet by every game I played the last 10 years or so exept Vanguard.

I had high hopes for WoW and eq2 but only played wow for 2 months then canceled, eq2 lasted a bit longer.

I have given up the hope that any mmo released will fulfill my expectations and soon I will stop even bothering trying those games.

You are correct my friend...When your into a game you are most likely not on this site.

I'm here waiting and doing the same thing you are, after playing Rift recently and finally realizing it's just another shallow themepark game i came here like i have for many years looking for a new game.

In the process i have finally come to the conclusion that i just don't have any interest in themepark games and am looking forward to the RESURRECTION of the true sandbox games.

Not the Darkfalls or the MO's that label them selfs as sandbox but are nothing more then PvP themepark games.

Once the themepark generation gets sick of the shallow, linear games they have been playing and demand a more indepth challenging experience, we will just have to wait.

Waiting is what we are doing...

    Hopefully not for long...

Very well said i think the themepark is overplayed, I will not keep doing the same thing that is set in stone for me. There has got to be a great sandbox or some other style! Lolimage

You assume I'm making assumptions rather than basing my people-avoidance policies on the nature of whatever game world I happen to be inhabiting.

And also, you still don't address my second point:  If leveling is mindlessly painful solo, why would I waste time doing the same mindless, painful grind with other players when I could just get my social kicks in a chatroom and save some money?  MMOs cannot and should not continue to churn out the same tired formulas, then expect players to provide the entertainment for each other.

I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

I'd be happy to find something even moderately entertaining.  Doing 100 task quests to gain 1 level doesn't cut it for me.  I'm too old and slow to enjoy PVP.

What I'd really like is grouped dungeon runs with friendlies who aren't elitists, antagonists or those who like to screw up a dungeon run because they think it's funny.

What I end up doing is finding grindy games with decent communities, and passing the time there.  At least it's a way to feel like I'm at least playing something.

Id say try dragon nest :)

Because the swift, instanced dungeons are not really conducive to a good community and you will acheive cap in a couple of days and then get a bit bored jumping around dungeons.  Is fun for a brief while though.  If you want to stand in a lobby and wait for instances to pop I would be more inclined to play World of Tanks (to Action MMORPG: it is pvp, but old and slow pvp).

Regarding pvp in Dragonage, unless things have changed melee is far better than ranged since they can close the gap or dodge very quickly while you wait for your skills to charge.  Having a 2 second delay on your best dps moves means that time and time again they have disappeared over the horizon or are twatting you about the head with a big stick before you have loosed a single arrow or spell.  It gets very frustrating very quickly.

while waiting around for gw2 ive been enjoying 2011 because even though mmos have sucked these last few years 2011 has been the best year in recent history for non-mmos and every month this year a good single player game has been released

Guild Wars 2 is my religion

Otherlands is alright i looked at the trailer wasn't a lot of detail if you would like to explain it better. My child growing up fantasy was Final Fantasy with cloud and maybe FF Versus. Otherland looks interesting enough tho looks like a SIM rather than a mmo game tho.

Yeah, there is a game and are games I want to play but they haven't made it/them yet.

If it ain't one danged thing that'll ruin a game, there's another. My last favorite game got the axe because of a hardware change. I suspect I may never see anything of it's likeness again.

I come here to keep up with what's going on in the gaming world, but  I spend most of my time looking into fishing.

I went Ultima Online, Everquest, Asherons Call, Aion, Rift (I skipped Wow, busier years).

Now I'm bored so I'm helping with a community MMO

and just waiting for the Old Republic to come out... I just hope they dont mess up end game PvP because its the only thing that can prolong a game...

and that is why finding a fulfilling MMO will be hard to find.....

" A vast majority of gamers want the "end game" " or so corporate america has been led to believe that.  Gone are the days when an indy developer makes a game in their garage and shock the world.  Gone are the days where it takes days / weeks to gain 1 level your character, most of today's gamers want that instant gratification or rush from fast leveling / PvP / and getting to the end game.  To me, the advent of 2nd generation  MMO's did a few things to the gaming community, things that can not be undone.

    1.  Made MMO's available to the casual gamer, taking the content and difficulty with it.

    2.  Virtually sucked the life out of different types of game development, besides MMO's.

    3.  The popularity with console games adds to the instant  gratification mantra.

    4.  Through repeated trashing, jokes and villification, the pick up group is dead.

    5.  And by extension, companies and websites posting game information to solve quests, suggest build and so on, the day the game is released.

I too would like to see a game with depth, backstory, learning curve and where grouping is the norm, not the exception.  But that would take changing the paradigm of modern game development.

I basically just gave up on MMO gaming. Ran out of things to play, everything is so original, promising so much and never delivered it. Also being reptitive and unoriginal. So basically all I play is runescape now, only because atleast I have a choice of 24+ skills I can mess with when I get bored with another. Show me an MMO that can impress me. Preferably an RPG with a fantasy theme.

all derp'd out and nowhere to herpaderp.
