I dont know, as much as I would like to log-in to GW 2 I just been getting the feeling that something big is gonna happen that's going to keep ANet from finishing an releasing this game.
They raise the lvl cap to 80............so will they be selling exp potions in the cash hsop so i can lvl quicker?..probably.
Charactors look cool and unique...?...So i dont have to bye dyes in the cash shop to change the looks of my equipment? Or will they already be cool and unique?
Guild hall is back...?.. why would anyone need to be in a guild? You dont even need to form a group from what i've read.
Same old same old......really a f2p that you have to buy the box to play.
You obviously don't know how the game works, but you judge it anyway. Bravo.
Why would you need to buy exp potions when the leveling curve is basically flat? No, you don't need to buy dyes in the cash shop. And your opinion of guilds is irrelevant to the rest of your post. If you're going to cast aspersions, make sure they make sense.
If Anet is truly listening to everyone, where is the player housing? :-)
Umm...player housing is in. This is old news. Really old news.
In fact, housing is an understatement. It will be, in addition ot the housing, more like a district that reflects the choices you've made in your personal story.

You're wrong, or rather half-right. Actual costomization of your home will not be in at release but will come sometime after release. At release there's only your home district which reflects choices made during your personal story.

I must have missed that announcement. I was already excited about GW2 but now it's really tough waiting until next year.

Yes, player housing is coming after release, along with guild halls, which they apparently want to make more involved than they were in GW1. They were essentially just meeting grounds in GW1, so moer personalized guild halls are very exciting (more exciting, IMO, than personal player housing).
well i want this game same as the rest of us but...i have my doubts...break the mold its fun and a very nice improbvement but pbkly some players will not get used to that, looking a games at rift wich allows you to plaay various roles in 1 class with little efforth with thee option to have 5 builds and still is quite hard to find DECENT healers or tanks pbly 70 or 80% are dps, i think tthe same will happen with guild wars too even if u can support or tank everybody will end looking at builds and choosig the best dps skills even if dont fit with their playstyle,is just the way players usually are
To me the greatest feature is the focus on cooperation in PVE. That players dont compete for questkills and can work together towards the same goal without having to fear that they will be ninja'd out of loot or that the content becomes too easy.
And the in my eyes mandatory sidekicking system that needs to be present in any MMO with high lvl cap. They even implemented this better then I expected, because it happens automatically if you go to a lower lvl area.
Why are they still making MMOs with levels? It makes sense in a story-driven single player RPG but it's out of place in a persistent MMO.
Levels mean it also has quests which are probably cheesy scripts handed out by NPCs who just stand around like mechanical props in a fake world. That's what WoW is. Now it's just a single player game. Why bother logging onto a server and wasting internet bandwidth?
Eventually you reach the max level, then what? You can just keep grinding but that's kind of pointless. You can duel with newer players but it's boring because they aren't a challenge. All you can do is create a new character so you have something to look forward to.
Ultimately it's nothing but cheesy characters engaged in senseless combat, with no physics, and ridiculously blingy special effects. It's not really appropriate for children or adults.

Anet has thought about doing away with levels but they were afraid that that would scare away a lot of potential players, especially since they are already changing other fundamental mmo-stuff. And I think they are right. This was also shown when they brought in external testers who could not get used to just exploring the world without the guidance of quests so Anet added the optional scout system to show players where events were going on.

The reason they use leveling and quests is because it's cheap. It saves them from having to create complex worlds where exploration is fun. Questing pve can be fun if it's done right but, it's no substitute for random and spontaneous pvp. And neither of these things necessitate leveling.
Funny, i know i do not work for ANet and i do know im not in the business, but i feel the same way as David....i wonder why? Maybe because he is correct all the way??

Have you even looked at the game yet?
The entire thing is complex, which encourages exploration over linear questing. The quests basically do 2 things in this game:
1) Highlight potential areas to check out (similar to the scout system. ie. 'you haven't been over there yet, we need you to go to an area nearby, might not be a bad idea to check out what's just a little bit further'
2) They offer alternative things to achieve alongside the dynamic events. This way players aren't limited to the events, and if they don't feel like exploring, they can go fetch things for an NPC / etc.
It's an addition to this game (and not a small one), not a crutch. The leveling in the game is simply to please players that have gotten used to it, and to add an additional layer on to customization. That's really it. Most of this game revolves around player skill, the skills you choose, and the weapons you play with.
"...we can now choose our armor types, from an entire catalog of colors, and customizations with our character’s physical appearances that give us what we want."
Now i want to ask people who know for sure - is all this customization freely available in game, or do you have to buy the stuff in cash shop?

Thank God they're leaving dual classing behind. That was such a bad idea on so many levels. Talk about some awful class mismatches.
just lol... are u serious? or are u just a noob?
No, my cries have not been heared and it goes like this...
"I WANT TO START PLAYING THIS GAME NOW!!!!"
but alas, to no avail.
Ready for GW2!!!

Evil will always triumph because good is dumb....

The dual classing was great although I actually liked Rift's handling of classes even better.
It has already been stated that housing is coming sometime after release? :-)

One key thing that Im excited about is that the leveling in this game wont be such a hastle and frustrating.

So far GW2 beat any other mmo ever made or any mmo thats being developt.
The reason ?
It will focus all aspects of fun...
20 levels higher then your friend and you scale down in levels when you do events together.
No more greedy retarded ninja's ruining your day.
No more node stealing idiots grrrrrr always hated that
The events themselves looks like end game bosses in wow lawl
!
Art style i can say 1 word AMAZING !
PvP i cannot comment on till i play it myself, on paper it looks good, but we all know that a paper means shit.
But knowing Anet they will not fail on that department.
They are working hard and i cannot wait to get my hands on GW2.
