Turbine's elusive and deceptive practices since F2P

The change to F2P was a major one for LOTRO that brought many new players to the game.  Turbine told everyone that Turbine Points were how people would be buying content from that point on.  People started buying points in anticipation of the next expansion.

They told us that points wouldn't buy you advantages in the store.  They changed their mind and the removed such statements from their site and forums.

They told us that expansions would be purchaseable with points.  They have a massive sale on Turbine points and soon after tell everyone they can't preorder the expansion with points.  Not a lie but still deceptive.

They put up a description of the expansion stating exactly what it would contain.  Many people assumed it would include instances and they were aware of those assumptions.  They simply ignored them so as not to reduce the amount of preorders.

Eventually, they admitted that the expansion wouldn't include 3/6/12 mans.  After a large outcry from people that preordered assuming they would get such instances they finally stated that anyone paying cash to preorder or to buy the game after release would get the instances for free.

They were asked if people paying with points would be able to buy the expansion the day of release.  SILENCE.  They were asked if people buying the expansion for points would get the instances in update 5 for free.  Again, SILENCE.

They haven't outright lied to anyone.  But they've made a lot of vague statements regarding Turbine Points and refuse to elaborate on them.  It's all about the money and they are willing to abandon people that assumed that points would be treated like cash.  The same people they allowed to have this assumption in order to sell more points for cash.

Turbine is being very deceptive intheir practices and simply seek to not outright lie to anyone.  That's not the moral high ground.  That's the stance of a company not wanting to get sued.

They cant really stop you from making assumptions and i would rather them finish getting ROI ready then worry about people who freak out over nothing when they assusme wrong, or are busy making new assumptions they should not. Also making up stuff which has happened a lot lately. If you are one who loves to assume perhaps next time or this time for that matter take a wait and see approach. If not you will just be making silly post like this blaming a company for yours or whoevers own mistake.

I take it your the same guy/lady who wrote this on the Turbine Forums?  I firmly beleive they were trying to push all this as fast as possible so they didnt announce things were not in it till they knew they couldnt deliver it on time.  I firmly beleive they pulled the release forward not to clash with TOR.

That being said they said you can buy the Expansion with TP soon after release (check dev posts) costs etc are not advertised but people beleive similar pricing structure as before (around 3-4k TP).
