    What OS (operating system) are you using?  Usually rebooting will fix problems like that.

    Im using Windows XP Home Edition currently.  And I have done many restarts due to deleting some Spyware type stuff and its not working.

    Its probably a virus if you can locate the file path of the virus you can kill it with Kill Box, a good tool for cleaning out your pc's problem areas, free too.  All you gotta do is put the file path in and delete.

    You can get it at the link below.

    Let me know if this helps any.

    Have you updated your windows any?  If not, just open browser click tools and windows update rest should be self explainitory.

    If you want a decent spyware/adware scanner just get the M$ anti-spyware software.

    http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

    It works good.  Other spyware/adware scans are

    Adaware

    Spybot

    Hope this helped some, let me know if it worked or not.

    I have updated my system but didnt update to SP2 since it kinda messes with ur games and stuff.  And I fixed it by doing prolly the stupidest thing but it worked, I did a system restore.

    I hope your parents didn't have anything on there that they needed but, probably no big deal glad it worked you.  Anyways, SP2 works fine w/games on WinXP professional. image

    Ok I know exactly what is wrong, and if you follow these steps it should fix it.

    Firstly, you will need to goto Control Pannel, and then tools.
    Then folder options, then click on the view tab.
    Then uncheck the box for hiding file extensions.

    Now, go to your c: or whatever drive you have, and create a .txt file

    Now it should be New Text Document.txt

    Open this file and type the following into it word for word

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesActiveDesktop]
    "NoChangingWallPaper"=dword:00000000
    "NoHTMLWallPaper"=dword:00000001

    Now after you have done that, save it and rename the file to a .reg

    Then double click it and merge.

    Restart your computer and you should be fine.

    EDIT: just relized that I was too late...meh.

    It messes with what games? News to me, I have had zero problems with SP 2.
