Guild Wars game type?

When you start the game, it lets you choose btwn PvE and Pvp, if you choose PvE can you still do all the PvP stuff? And if you choose PvP is there anything different?
Sorry if this seems like a noob question, but this stuff always confuses me/ jsut like in WoW =P

Yo dude you use PvE its the roleplaying one. Once you do PvE later you can do PvP for some other stuff so choose PvE. PvE is the whole start of roleplaying where you choose your character and do missions and stuff. However, PvP is just fighting with player however, if you choose PvP at start you cant choose any of the skills and stuff so its pretty much useless ok yourwelcome bye,

pvp only char is good for a tryout , in the rpg mode you can go to all pvp arenas , and have your char way more powerfull .

just takes long time to do it , of corse.

PvP only characters start out at level 20 so you don't have to go build up a new toon every time you want a new build for a PvP fight. You can unlock skills and items for your PvP characters, so they start out with decent enough gear. Generally, a fine-tuned full character will be better than a PvP only toon even with unlocked skills and items, but not so much that you are gaurenteed to win over a similar build with unlcoked gear.
