My favorite beer is a white from belgium called the "Chimée Bleue", it's divine. The taste is really good but not too intense. It's also not too harsh for an abbey beer.

Bud Light. It tastes close enough to water that I don't mind the bitterness too much. I'd take a Coke Zero over it any day of the week, however (except for when grading lab reports and papers. The consumption of minor amounts of alcohol results in higher grades, which makes everyone happy).

That's a tough question, I think the best response is any beer other than arrogant bastard.
OP: Is that the same as Chimay? Chimay is good and Belgian anyways.
My real passion is Irish stout. Guiness or if no Guiness is avaliable Murphys.
When it comes to lager and pilz, there are many good ones, the Danish green Tuborg is excellent. US lagers like Bud taste like battery acid to me, the original (that Budweisser bribed to rename to Budwar even though it is the original) is however pretty tasty.
As for ales, I like Belgians but the American Samual Addams have a pretty fine dark ale as well.
Did you know that beer is 3000 years older than bread and might be the reason people started farming in the first place? A lot point to that, in that case is bear the thing that really founded civilazation. hard to think that when you see some Brittish soccer hooligans.

On a side note I thought Chimay Blue was a dark beer? Been a while since I had it so I could be mistaken on that.

Irish stouts are my favorites but I am also partial to imperial stouts which tend to have a high abv rating.

Chimay bleue is effectively a belgium beer that can come in more than one flavor and alcoholic degree.
You can have 3 types called :
"Capsule blanche/white"
"Capsule rouge/red"
"Capsule Bleue/blue"

There are a lot of good beers in Belgium. You just have to come and try them to find the one that suits you. One of my fvourite is Orval, another trappist beer.

Yeah, isn't there a third one as well? I think I seen one more when me and a Breton friend were on a pub round. There is a Breton ale really similar to Chimay BTW, but the name eludes me, it was something weird.
But I agree, the blue one is really good unless some moron shakes it up for you.
Guinness - properly poured, not chilled, and in Ireland (the last bit is surprisingly important) and lager-wise Budvar. Oddly, I cannot stand Budweiser, the original is sooooo much better, and perfect on a sunny day.

It depends on whether or not I'm drinking with a meal, the type of food, etc., but I generally stick with Fat Tire Amber Ale, Sam Adams Lager, New Castle Brown Ale, Yebisu Premium Malt, and the occasional random hefeweizen.
Warm Summer days: Corona + lime or other light lager from Southern Europe etc... eg bbq's: good times. If I'm hungry then a good Guinness helps keeps the wolf at the door for a bit and nowadays I've totally switched from generic beer brands to bespoke Ales if they serve them: Something different and interesting as I don't drink that much anyway. As with wines, whiskeys, Real Ales are kinda interesting flavors too. : )

Weissbier, traps, ales and stouts, always European beer (aka proper beer).
Brown bears, definitely. From what I've heard they are relatively peaceful and I just like their coziness.

I'll basically try anything that is not Budweiser,Miller,or Coors(basically theyre the same product) as theyre the 'Nazi's'(especially Bud) of the world of ale and beer.Its amazing how many smaller brewing companies who make good quality beer/ale are kept on a leash and kept underground away from our knowledge,stores, and taste buds becuase of those big 3 companies.
Budweiser owns many,many subsidiary brewing companies.I was shocked to find out that brands like Japan's Kirin Ichiban and Belgium's Hoegaarden are owned by Budweiser as well as many others.If you see a beer with a name you never heard before,dont be surprised when you see Anheiser-Busch somehwere on the label.

I dont know too much about kinds of beers but my favorite is San Miguel 1516 (In english it can be said Saint Michel) it's made here in the city i live in and it has a soft taste.
