Boxee?

Curious if any of you have used Boxee before and have either made you're own Boxee or purchased a Boxee? 

Im mostly interested in its ability to watch premier movies before they come to DVD which is what Im told you can do with this device.  Its very open ended which makes me believe that somehow its able to fetch torrents for premier movies like super 8 and transformers 3.

Im a gadget whore, so is the wife and we're really starting to consider this device.  Supposedly the one you buy from them offers 1080p and has an optical output
