is anyone else having an issue with the shop not doing a transaction or anything of the sort?

Yes, if you use credit card, it takes like 24 hours. Use paypal, it's instant. I had to cancel and use paypal to get my stuff.
If you're using a credit card just click on the live support link at the bottom of the account page and they'll shove it through within a couple of minutes for you.
Yes mine's taking forever also!
I contacted support by email and they told me that due to the new Unchained format, things are taking alot longer than usual... but they will still be processed.
Nothing for it but to wait I suppose.
