Why the 1,5 gb limit?
HD's are cheap
My brand new bloggity blog.
I would recommend Runescape for your immeadiate needs. But that's just my view, others may differ.

$65 for 1TB sata
$45 for 600GIG sata
If you still have an IDE only type get the IDE to Sata adapter/cable
Can't think of any decent mmorpgs under 1.5-gigabytes /limited
Check out StarWars Galaxies.
I've read it's got potential.
QFT :P
Sadly not for long as SOE is going to pull the plug on it.
it's not a hard disk problem , it's net problem, with 256kb/s it will take 1night to download a 1.5GB game and i don't want to wait a month to play a game like wow
Guildwars? But just 1 of the 3 campaigns, all 3 and the expansion takes up 3,7Gb.
I think it is your best choice right now, no monthly fees and the best graphics you can find for that diskspace.
DDO with low textures is the alternative, it is Freemium.
I don't think any MMO is that small these days.
LOTRO or GW1 is what I suggest for casual gaming.

Have you thought of a browser based game?
Battlestar Galactica looks pretty cool but there's loads of others.
You'll struggle to find a 3d mmo less than 1.5gb but there are a few.
http://play.worldoftanks.eu/ - 1.1gb
http://global.4story.com/landing.asp 1.2gb
http://aika.gpotato.com/landing/ 1gb
http://www.faxiononline.com/ - 1.4gb
http://en.start.gamigo.com/kingofkings3/003a/ - 1.5gb
I haven't played any of the above but that should start you off, Google is your friend.
No. I don't have hi-speed either. Most MMO downloads for me take about 14 hours. I remember once playing City of Heroes on a 32k modem. They had a download that was 3.2 gb, and it took most of the weekend.
Besides, if you find a game you you like, the big download is a one-time thing. Start it before bed, before work, w/e. It's not that bad.
