I'd like to know what happens after the trial period is over. Do you have to buy the game or just sub? Thanks.

    both, you need to buy and sub.

    Buying the game gives you a 30 free days gametime and after that it's monthly sub.

    You can buy Aion with 50% off from direct2drive.com so that means you are buying Aion at a monthly sub price !
