What once was..is forgotten (wall text)

I remember few months after wow launched it was the time i bought it. Ael friend was already playing it and me and 2 ther friends got in to find him and play all together in the same server. For the record ot defias brotherhood the best wow rp-pvp server. Before wow, my only mmo expirience was just abit from lineage and nwn1 multiplayer mods/servers.

I was a great fun of d&d ranger class so i picked a hunter. The ability to fight with 2handed sword and bow was great fun for me. I took my time on lvling (got 60 lvl in around 5 months). I was busy with a lot of things but mostly focusing on daily visits to horde or contested teritories focusing on rp-pvp activities. At that time i must confess we were living the game and its atmosphere. I was scouting for hordes,in the forests, was laying ambushes in various spots inside barrens. TYpically i ll refer to a case i still remember well. I found a tower around 30 meters with stairs where i made it my defending position. I left my lion stealthed at the base of the stairs and i was 20 meters above it. In a few words after 30 mins of fights there were 4-5 20 lvl hordes, 3-4 30's 2-3 40 lvl hordes that were trying to reach me bt still couldnt. I was 42 lvl at that point and for 30 mins i was killing evryne that passed by the tower so at the end they all teamed up trying to kill me. That was fun.At that point i was beast master in specc and it was quite strong at that time(vanilla wow).

I remember i found my pet after waiting 3 days under a tree in barrens to spawn since it was a rare black lion. I remmber it was doing good dmg and it was the faster pet at that time. Here i will mention that in that period evry pet almost in wow was doing diferent dmg ,some were faster other were slower, there was a unique rare wolf that was doing shadow dmg instead of physical dmg etc etc unacontrary with nowdays where every pet is same ,all cats are same, all bears are same,and are being categorized to dps,tank, etc etc removing pets uniquness that once was.

I remember after 50 lvl and till 4-5 months after 60 lvl i had almost the same gear till i get my pvp sets,knight and commander set after a time.I remmber clearly that i spend 2 years playing, with a 57 lvl green 2 handed sword ,simply because it was 3.90 speed and due to that it was doing quite a lot hard heroic strikes on the enemies.It was too slow for dps, but it was hitting hard. Imagine a full pvp arms warrior at that time with the commander saet had around 5.300 life and my heroic strikes critted them around 800 dmg.All other hunters were running around with duel wild weapons at that time ,or fast 2 handed weapons,they didnt obviously realised the potential of slow weapons for hunters class. The result of mu action was that i after playing 3 years almost as 60 lvl in only lost 4 duels from warriors in mellee fights( not a single arrow thrown). I also managed once to win without bow a marshal frost mage and he remmbered me fo years just for that. The hunter who won me without bow.

The point of all these things is not so i say how good i was. It's just to point to ppl that at that time wow was relatively balanced as it is today, but it was leaving space to ppl,that may had some good ideas ,concerning their builds and playstyle/ fightstyle to improvise ,discover tricks,pets,usage of hypothetically uselless or bad items and win out something of them.Something that other player or even sites didnt get right or found out.

As to my activities at that time?

I was playing hours everyday battlegrounds,was making premades for them, or joining other premades and was getting burned in there facing other premades from the hordes of defias brotherhood. It was a real war.Nothign to do with todays bg's or rated bg's. You cant understand what im talking about if u were not there at vanilla. I ll try to explain. 1st of al the hordes were from your server and only. With those hordes after playing 3 years in defias server, we knew eachother. We killed eachother in lvling , we fought eachother in bg's or world map .We knew them also inside bg's what tactics ex premades were doing inside wsg, what tactics i was using inside ab wehn leading premades. There were major fights in the server forum's also. NOTHING to do with fighting hordes or alllies u dont even know or met beforeas it is today with the crossserveered bg's....nothing at all... the fewling can not be compared.Not to mention the competition beetween allied players that were trying to pass eachother in the ranked ladders.At this point i will mention the server i was in had some great players amongst their ranks and there were 3-4 major guilds that were competing themselfs in bg's and pve raids progression. I was lucky to be inside in one of them dfg,the other 2 were crimson gaultnlet and helix.

Aprt bg's ,sometimes i was travelling to dungeons (yes TRAVELLING) with guildies and playing with them,i recall i did more than 20 runs to get that ancient bonebitter bow in (not stratholme the other one forgetting its name) . Someother times i simply went as escort with guildies to felwood forest to gather ingridients herbs and staff they needed and for me some  special flowers with healing effects aka healing potions that were growing in there so i can use them in bg's.

Some other times i was joing friends and were going farming mobs so maybe we were lucky and an expensive epiq item drops and we win lots of money.Some other times were just farming mobs for money in eastern plaguelands.

Then bc came after apoint. It was somehow diferent, some things were changed by blizard,classes changed abit,arenas came bg's died..they were just for farming honour. i was still beastial.

I remmeber i played as beastial with a friend arms warrior and we made it in 2s  1.912 rating..That was an achievement. Not like the stupid achievement system wow uses nowdays but an achievment for ourselfs. Arenas were fun especially 3s and 5s but it just some fights. Not a war like the bg's once was. Near the end of bc wow died for me. I had my adventures and things to rember from wow. Sometimes i still recall them. Wow today is somethign else. Not nice for my taste. Not nice for a player that doesn't like to sit in sw just reading announcments lfmexpert dps rogue for x guild or announcments like lfm druid for 3s be skilled, geared.with brainz. Cause that 's what wow is nowdays. A cold dead unfriendly dull enviroment.Nothing to do with the wow i met.

Im just waiting for a good mmoRPG with rpg element strong in it, a living world that u enjoy being part of.A game where when u login u have plenty things to do,than just read anouncments in a channel.
