WOW launching new Epic Mount at Blizzard Store.

depaindepain Member Posts: 263

I was listening to the Blizzard Press Call yesterday. I was more interested in Diablo 3, which is scheduled for late 2011/early 2012 release. However, beta is said to start Q3 of 2011.

Anyways...

They were talking about their new mount they are about to launch at the Blizzard Store....

Crazy - The MMO population grows and grows while the genre continues to get worse and worse.

I really didn't like the Astral Steed or whatever it's called the first time around, hopefully it'll be something cooler.  Anyone got any idea what it is?

Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

As World of Warcraft loses subscriptions (down to 11.4 from 12,000,000 last year) they will have to increase their store sales.

This year alone, even with 600,000 less subscriptions they have made more money than last year, mainly due to store sales.

I won't be surprised if heirlooms go for sale soon, or proffession scrolls.

I don't mean to sound big headed... But I know Voldemort.

With all this they are ruining the good game!

  • AusareAusare Member Posts: 850

Buying a pony ruined that game?  You still have to buy the skill to ride it which is what actually costs gold.  Mounts are cheap.

...the great white has smelt blood in the water.

there is no turning back now. just wait, as soon as Blizz puts out their new mmo Titan, WoW will go F2P with cash shop.

It all goes back to that speech Cormick gave about WOW in September 09 maybe 2010 at a conference, ( I might be wrong about the date), where he stated that they could charge double the sub fee for the game and people would still pay as their hopelessly addicted. He also went on about how Activision were, 'modernising', Blizzard with vanity items purchases for WoW.

Oh these things are here to stay Bliz fans, WoW is just another Guitar Hero :)

All games will have RMT in them in the future.  There is too much money in it and people odviously want the items.  DLC have invaded single player games.  This is the future.  Love it or hate it...it is here to stay.  Atleast the choice is yours if you buy the items or not.

     It's a big gold $ with wings

Assassin's like to do it in the dark and from behind.

Given the hold they have on their subscribers, I wouldn't be surprised if they called it "Yomama"... ;)

Just so crazy how many people will pay two months worth of sub for one friggin' mount...

Of course they can, but that doesn't mean that the rest of us can't facepalm at them spending money on what we consider a complete waste of cash.

If you look at the sales figures for the first mount, I hardly think that that many "really really rich" people are playing WoW.

  • SpilletSpillet Member Posts: 5

Where are those sales numbers to check?
